If OBS says your YouTube stream key is rejected, first copy the current key from YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and update OBS. Then verify that the server URL and protocol are correct. A rejected-key message can be a credential mismatch; a timeout, SSL error, or “failed to connect to server” points instead toward the server/protocol setup or the network path. YouTube and OBS publish general troubleshooting steps, but those instructions do not establish that JioFiber specifically blocks YouTube Live.
1. Replace the saved key with the current YouTube key

In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and select the stream you intend to start.

Copy the current stream key and paste it into OBS’s stream-key field. YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance for a third-party encoder error is: “To fix it, get a new stream key in the Live Control Room and update your encoder.” YouTube Help: Troubleshoot live stream errors

If you reset the key, replace the old saved key in OBS; changing it in YouTube alone does not update OBS. YouTube says only a channel owner or manager can reset a stream key. YouTube Help: Manage your live stream settings

Check for an accidental leading or trailing space when pasting. If you use saved settings for a previously created OBS stream, do not assume they contain the current key—inspect the field.
2. Verify the server URL and key are in the right OBS fields
The server URL and stream key are separate values. The server belongs in OBS’s server field; the key belongs in the stream-key field. Compare both against the setup for the selected YouTube stream rather than pasting one value into the other field. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions distinguish the server URL from the stream key: Set up your encoder for live streaming.
If you connect by signing in to your YouTube account inside third-party software instead of entering a key, YouTube advises contacting that software’s support team; the integration may need updating. YouTube Help: Troubleshoot live stream errors

3. Match the protocol to the server URL
If OBS reports an SSL error or timeout, changing the key repeatedly is unlikely to address the immediate issue. Check that the selected protocol and server URL agree. For RTMPS, use the RTMPS server URL, and confirm that the encoder supports RTMPS. YouTube says port 443 can be specified when troubleshooting an SSL error. Follow YouTube’s current encoder instructions for the exact server value and format rather than guessing or substituting a URL. YouTube Help: Stream using RTMPS

Once the key, server, and protocol are correct, treat “failed to connect to server” or a continuing timeout as a connection problem to diagnose—not proof that the key is invalid or that JioFiber is at fault. Change one condition at a time so the result is informative.
Update OBS and test Ethernet

Install the current OBS version, then retry the same stream settings.

If the computer is on Wi-Fi, connect it to the router with Ethernet and test again. If that works, it points toward Wi-Fi or local-network conditions; it does not prove the key was valid or establish a JioFiber fault. A standard Ethernet cable may be useful for this conditional test, but it will not fix a stale key or an incorrect server URL.
Check VPN, security software, and OBS network settings

Temporarily test without a VPN, if one is active. Check whether firewall or security software is interfering with OBS’s outbound connection; avoid leaving protections disabled after testing.

Review OBS network settings. OBS documents using IPv4 only as a troubleshooting test. If that does not help, restore the default IPv4/IPv6 setting.

Restart the router and compare another connection if available

Restart the router/modem if general connectivity is also unstable, then retry.

If you can safely test a temporary alternate internet connection, use the same OBS configuration. A successful test on another connection makes the original connection path a variable worth investigating; it does not, by itself, identify which part of that path is responsible.
These steps follow OBS’s general connection troubleshooting guidance, which lists unstable connections, Wi-Fi, VPN or security software, IP-family selection, router/modem conditions, and ISP-side issues among factors to investigate. 5. When to contact Jio support
Contact Jio support after confirming the current YouTube key, the separate server and key fields, the selected protocol, and OBS’s basic network conditions. Explain what you tested and when the connection fails. If wired Ethernet or an alternate connection changes the result, include that comparison; it helps narrow the issue to a connection path without proving a specific JioFiber restriction. Do not assume a port-forwarding change is needed: the cited OBS guidance focuses on diagnosing connection conditions and contacting the ISP when necessary, not opening inbound ports as a default fix.
