Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →If audio starts in sync but gradually slips behind or ahead during a nonstop kirtan stream, check the sample rates and clocking across your audio chain, then inspect OBS and YouTube diagnostics. If the mismatch is already steady at the start, diagnose it as a fixed offset instead. Those two symptoms need different fixes; changing OBS’s sync offset is not a universal cure.
First identify whether the delay is fixed or growing
Compare a clear audio-and-picture event near the beginning with the same kind of event later in the stream or its replay. A steady mismatch points to a fixed offset. A gap that increases over time suggests a timing or clocking problem somewhere in the capture chain. This comparison is a practical troubleshooting method, not a kirtan-specific test protocol.
Kirtan itself is not established as a distinct technical cause of drift. The issue is generally in the encoder, audio devices, or delivery path.
Check sample rates across the audio chain
In OBS, your operating system’s audio settings, virtual audio devices, and any primary or backup stream output, check that configured sample rates agree. YouTube’s Live Streaming API lists 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz as recommended audio sample rates and flags mismatches between primary and backup streams (YouTube Live Streaming API: LiveStreams; Configuration Issues for LiveStream Resources). YouTube’s encoder guidance also gives sample-rate recommendations; its specific association of 44.1 kHz with stereo and 48 kHz with 5.1 surround should not be generalized to other channel layouts (Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions).

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a rate supported by the full chain and make the devices agree rather than changing just one setting. An OBS forum reply identifies inconsistent rates across audio devices as a possible source of drift or distortion. Separate hardware devices can also have independent clocks, so matching the displayed rate does not guarantee that they remain synchronized over a long run. These are community observations, not a guarantee that every setup will behave the same way (OBS forum discussion; OBS forum discussion).
Simplify a multi-device capture setup
If audio is assembled from multiple USB devices, capture hardware, or virtual inputs, test a simpler routing arrangement. Where practical, route sources through one interface and compare the long-run result with the separate-device setup. A single interface is one possible approach, not a proven cure for every case. Check that the interface has the inputs you need and that it does not introduce another source of timing trouble.

| Approach | What to check | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Keep devices separate | Confirm rates and observe whether timing diverges during a long run. | Preserves the current routing, but multiple devices may have independent clocks. |
| Route sources through one interface | Verify it has enough inputs, then repeat the same start-versus-later comparison. | May simplify the clocking arrangement, but adds setup changes and is not guaranteed to eliminate drift. |
Settings alignment or a routing change may solve the problem without buying hardware.
Read OBS statistics before changing delivery settings
Check OBS’s statistics while streaming for network-dropped frames and other performance indicators. OBS says dropped frames mean the connection is unstable or cannot sustain the selected bitrate; that points to a delivery or network issue, not proof of audio-clock drift. OBS recommends troubleshooting the connection, and bitrate adaptation may reduce dropped frames at the cost of video quality (OBS: Stream Connection Troubleshooting).

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Keep network troubleshooting separate from sample-rate checks. If you lower bitrate or change connection settings, make one change at a time and check whether it affects the symptom.
Review YouTube Live stream health
Check YouTube’s stream health for reported audio sample-rate, channel, or primary/backup configuration problems, and correct any mismatch it identifies. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMPS. Treat that as a protocol configuration check, not as a promised fix for timing drift (YouTube encoder settings; LiveStreams configuration issues).

Test one change at a time
- Note whether the stream begins out of sync or becomes progressively more displaced. Compare the beginning with a later point using a repeatable visual and audio event.
- Check and align sample rates in OBS, operating-system devices, virtual devices, and primary or backup outputs.
- If several audio devices are involved, test a simpler routing arrangement and compare it with the original.
- Inspect OBS statistics. Investigate dropped frames as a connection or bitrate-capacity issue rather than assuming they explain timing drift.
- Review YouTube Live stream health and address any reported audio or primary/backup configuration mismatch.
- After each single change, compare a local recording with the live output or replay at the start and later in the run.
If the local recording stays synchronized but the delivered stream does not, the problem may be later in the chain. The available documentation does not establish one universal YouTube-side correction for that case. YouTube’s upload troubleshooting page notes that mismatched audio and video track durations can cause sync issues in uploaded videos, but that is upload guidance—not direct evidence of the cause of live-stream drift (Troubleshoot audio or video issues with uploads on YouTube).
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is to keep uploaded kirtan recordings playing on YouTube continuously, StreamNeo runs the stream in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home. Each slot streams your upload at its original quality, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers or re-encoding. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly access is $9.99 per month. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it does not stream from a camera.
