Charting the Unknown is scheduled to release on October 29, 2026, so before that date there is no download failure to fix: the expansion is not available yet. After release, first check your region’s launch time, then confirm the purchase, account, base game, and DLC status on the same storefront. The platform steps below are general troubleshooting—not confirmed fixes for this unreleased expansion.
Check whether Charting the Unknown is available in your region
Pearl Abyss delayed the Crimson Desert Enhanced expansion to October 29, 2026. Its announced release times are:

These are the publisher’s announced times; check the relevant store listing for availability in your location. A preorder does not mean the download is available before the regional release time. Pearl Abyss said it needed “additional development time to deliver a more polished and stable gameplay experience” in its September 30, 2026 announcement.
Confirm the purchase and matching game edition
Once the expansion is released in your region, verify the basics before changing files or reinstalling:

- Check the storefront’s order or transaction history and confirm that the purchase completed, rather than remaining pending or failed.
- Sign into the account that made the purchase. DLC ownership is tied to the storefront account; do not assume a purchase transfers to another platform or store.
- Make sure the base game and DLC are for the same platform and storefront. The Steam listing says the DLC requires ownership of Crimson Desert Enhanced on Steam.
- Open the game’s library or add-on page and check whether the expansion is listed as owned and installed. If it is not available in your market, regional content-rating requirements may be involved; Pearl Abyss notes that the DLC may be unavailable in some markets.
Pearl Abyss announced preorders through the PlayStation Store, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store. Availability and library controls depend on which of those stores you used.

The following are standard Steam procedures for library, download, or update problems. They have not been confirmed as title-specific fixes for Charting the Unknown.

Check DLC status in the game’s Library properties
- Restart Steam and your computer, then sign back into the account that owns the game and DLC.
- In Steam, open Library, right-click Crimson Desert Enhanced, and choose Properties.
- Open the DLC section and check that Charting the Unknown is listed as owned and enabled for installation.
- Return to the Library and see whether the game or add-on is queued, downloading, or reporting an error.
Try Steam’s download and file checks if an error persists
For download or update errors, Steam’s general guidance includes clearing the download cache, repairing the Library folder, verifying local game files, or changing the download region. Use the option that best matches the error rather than treating all four as mandatory. Clearing the cache signs you out; you will need to sign in again. General PlayStation troubleshooting
These are general PlayStation add-on checks, not confirmed fixes for this expansion. Start with the game’s library entry and the account that purchased the content.

- Open the main game’s page in your library and look for the add-on download option.
- If the DLC is missing, check your transaction history and the game’s add-on status to confirm the purchase completed and the add-on is available to that account.
- If you play from disc, confirm the disc’s region matches the region of the account’s store. A region mismatch can prevent add-on compatibility.
- If the add-on appears installed but is not accessible, check where the content is meant to appear in-game. Then try restarting the console or restoring licenses using PlayStation’s current support instructions.
- Reinstall only if the purchase and account checks are correct and the add-on still will not install or appear.

Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store/Xbox
Pearl Abyss lists Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store among the preorder storefronts, but title-specific installation instructions for those platforms are not established here. Check the purchase account, the game’s add-on or library listing, and the platform’s current support guidance. Do not apply Steam’s cache or file-verification instructions to another store unless that platform recommends them. If the store shows the expansion as owned but offers no download after the announced release time, contact the platform’s support or report the issue to Pearl Abyss.

- Your platform and storefront, plus your region.
- The account’s purchase or transaction status (do not send passwords or payment-card details).
- Whether the DLC is shown as owned, installed, or neither.
- The exact error text or code, if one appears.
Because the expansion is not yet released, title-specific download failures and their fixes have not been confirmed. These steps can identify common account, timing, and platform-library issues, but they cannot guarantee a fix for a release-day problem.
