If Clash of Clans will not load or keeps crashing, first check that your device meets Supercell’s minimum platform requirements and that the game is updated. Then distinguish a connection problem from an app crash: try a stable network and restart your device for connection trouble, and reinstall only if crashes continue. Before reinstalling or changing devices, make sure you know how your village is linked.
Check that your device is supported
Supercell’s “My Game Crashes!” guidance lists these minimums:

Supercell also recommends 1 GB or more RAM for Android. Meeting the listed specifications does not guarantee smooth operation, so an older or low-performance device may still struggle. If your operating system is below the minimum, updating the game alone will not make that device supported.
Update Clash of Clans
Check the game’s listing in Google Play or the Apple App Store and install an available update. Supercell recommends using the latest version when troubleshooting crashes. If the app cannot be updated because the device or operating system is no longer supported, use a supported device rather than repeatedly retrying the update.

Work out whether it is a connection problem or a crash
A game that opens but cannot connect, stalls while loading, or disconnects may have an unstable connection rather than an app crash. Supercell lists weak or broken device connections, unstable signal or low reception, low device performance, and server downtime or maintenance as possible causes. Full Wi-Fi bars or mobile-data coverage do not necessarily mean the connection is stable.
If the app closes, freezes, or returns you to the home screen, follow the crash steps below. The symptoms can overlap, and these checks cannot identify a particular cause without more information about the device and situation.

Try these steps for loading or connection trouble
For connection-related problems, Supercell’s “Unstable Connection” article recommends the following:
- Switch to a reliable Wi-Fi network or a solid mobile connection.
- Close other apps running in the background.
- Clear the game’s cache if your device and operating system provide that option. The available cache controls differ by device and software version.
- Restart your device, then open the game again.
If the problem persists across networks, it may not be caused by your local connection. Supercell also lists server downtime or maintenance as a possible cause, but its troubleshooting pages do not establish whether a live outage is happening at any given time.

If the game keeps crashing, reinstall it carefully
Supercell recommends reinstalling Clash of Clans if crashes continue after checking for updates. Before removing the app, confirm that you know how your account is linked and can access the associated login. Do not assume an unlinked account can be recovered simply by reinstalling. If the game opens, check the account connection first; Supercell’s older-device guidance specifically recommends linking to Supercell ID before moving to a supported device.
Move progress from an unsupported device
Supercell’s older-device notice says Clash of Clans will no longer be available to Amazon players or Android and Apple users below Android 7 or iOS 15 after “our next update.” The notice does not give a fixed calendar date for that change.

- On the old device, connect the game account to Supercell ID while you still have access to it.
- On a supported device, download Clash of Clans from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
- Log in using the linked Supercell ID to load your progress.
Contact Supercell Support if the issue remains
If the device is supported, the game is updated, and the connection and restart steps have not helped, contact Supercell through its Clash of Clans Support page. Include:
- A detailed description of what happens and what you have already tried.
- When the problem began.
- Your device model.
- Your operating-system version.
Those details help support distinguish device, installation, and connection symptoms. The official troubleshooting guidance does not guarantee that any single step will resolve every case.
