Check that the problem is with campaign collectibles
This guidance is for items picked up during the E-Day campaign that do not appear to be counted in the War Journal. It does not address multiplayer unlocks, medals, Coins or cosmetics, which are covered separately in the E-Day multiplayer overview. A physical Collector’s Edition statue issue is unrelated to in-game tracking; see the separate Collector’s Edition support notice for that matter.

Verify the collectible and its count
- Note the act and chapter where you found the item, along with its name or description if known.
- Record how many collectibles you believe you picked up and the number currently shown in the War Journal.
- If available, compare the chapter’s collectible locations with your progress. This can help distinguish an item that was missed from a count that appears inconsistent. The player report that brought attention to the issue does not identify the specific collectible.
One player reported picking up 38 different collectibles in Act 2 while the War Journal showed 37. That is a single report, not evidence that the issue is widespread, and it does not establish a cause or a working remedy. Read the report.
Restart the game and recheck the same save
- Fully close E-Day rather than simply leaving it suspended.
- Relaunch the game and load the same campaign save you used when collecting the item.
- Open the War Journal and compare its count with the number you recorded before restarting.
This low-risk check can show whether the displayed count changes after a fresh launch. No official source confirms that restarting fixes this particular symptom, so treat the result as a diagnostic observation rather than a guaranteed repair.

Preserve your campaign save
Do not delete local or cloud saves as an initial troubleshooting step. No reviewed official guidance recommends erasing saves for this issue. The official E-Day support guide says, “The Campaign allows you to save up to 5 different campaign playthroughs or states.” Keeping the original state intact is prudent; the guide does not say that using another slot corrects collectible tracking.
Report a mismatch that persists
If the count is still inconsistent after restarting, contact Gears of War Support. Xbox Wire directs players with issues to GearsofWar.com/support. Include the platform, act and chapter, collectible name or description, the count you expected, the War Journal count before and after restarting, and screenshots if you have them. Those details make the discrepancy easier to describe without risking the save that contains it.

Check service status, but do not assume an outage
You can check the official Gears of War status page, but it displayed no current update time or service states when checked on October 3, 2026. That page therefore did not establish whether progression services were healthy or experiencing an issue at that time.
