If Roblox keeps closing on your iPhone, force-close and reopen it, restart the phone, then update Roblox and iOS. If it still crashes, check that your device meets Roblox’s requirements and try a clean reinstall—but confirm you can sign back into your account before deleting the app. The right next step depends on whether Roblox fails on launch, in one experience, or only after you have been playing for a while.
First, identify when Roblox crashes
- It closes as soon as you open it: Start with app and iOS updates, a restart, and compatibility. If those do not help, reinstall Roblox.
- It closes while joining one experience: Try other experiences before changing more settings. A problem limited to one game may be specific to that experience or its session.
- It closes after several minutes: Check whether the phone is hot, nearly out of storage, or running demanding apps in the background. Try a less demanding experience.
- It freezes or returns to the Home Screen: That is consistent with an app crash. Follow the app steps below.
- It shows “No Network” or disconnects: Treat this as a connection problem unless the app actually closes. Update Roblox and test Wi-Fi and cellular separately.
Try the quick, non-destructive fixes
1. Force-close and reopen Roblox
On an iPhone with Face ID, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause to open the app switcher. Find Roblox, then swipe its preview up to close it. On an iPhone with a Home button, double-click Home, find Roblox, and swipe its preview up. Wait a few seconds, then reopen the app.

This ends the current app session; it does not delete Roblox or your account. Force-closing every app as a routine is not a lasting performance fix, but it can clear a stuck Roblox process. Apple recommends closing and reopening an app that stops responding or closes unexpectedly (Apple’s app troubleshooting steps).
2. Restart the iPhone
Restart the phone normally, then try Roblox again. If the whole iPhone is frozen, use Apple’s force-restart instructions for your specific model: the button sequence differs between Face ID models, iPhone 8 and later, and older Home-button iPhones. Do not use a single generic button combination for every model.

3. Update Roblox from the App Store
- Open the App Store and tap your profile picture in the upper-right corner.
- Review the available app updates. Update Roblox if it appears, or open the Roblox listing to check whether an update is available.
- Reopen Roblox and test the same experience that was crashing.
Roblox’s App Store listing describes regular updates with bug fixes and reliability improvements; install the version the App Store currently offers rather than relying on an old version number (Roblox on the App Store).
4. Update iOS if an update is available
Go to Settings → General → Software Update. If an update is available, install it—preferably while connected to Wi-Fi and power—then try Roblox again. Apple recommends checking for iOS updates when an app continues to malfunction (Apple Support). Updating is not a guaranteed fix. If the crashes started immediately after an iOS update, check for a Roblox app update and official Roblox support notices; do not treat an iOS downgrade as a routine fix.
Check iPhone compatibility, storage, and load
Confirm your iPhone and iOS version
Roblox currently lists iOS 14 or later as its iPhone requirement. Its minimum-device list includes iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE; it also lists iPod touch (7th generation), iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad (5th generation), and iPad Pro. Check your model and software at Settings → General → About, then compare them with Roblox’s mobile system requirements.

Meeting the minimum does not guarantee smooth play in every experience. Older supported iPhones may struggle with a demanding or poorly optimized game. Roblox also cautions that newly released devices and operating systems may not be supported immediately, including pre-release software.

Check available storage
Open Settings → General → iPhone Storage. If storage is nearly full, remove or offload apps you do not use, or clear large downloads and files. Restart the iPhone after freeing substantial space, then retry the Roblox update or reinstall. Roblox does not publish a universal amount of free space required for every iPhone and app version, so there is no reliable fixed-GB target to apply here.
Reduce load if the crash happens during play
- Close demanding apps before launching Roblox.
- If the iPhone feels hot, let it cool before testing again; avoid adding heat by charging it under demanding conditions where possible.
- If Roblox’s graphics controls are accessible, lower graphics quality and test again.
- Try a simpler experience to see whether the crash is tied to a heavier game.
These steps can help narrow down heat or resource pressure, but lowering graphics is not a guaranteed cure for an app crash. “RAM cleaner” apps are not a normal iOS solution for managing Roblox’s memory use.

Delete and reinstall Roblox safely
If updates and a restart have not helped, reinstalling is a stronger way to test whether the app installation or its local data is the problem. Roblox and Apple both recommend reinstalling or deleting and redownloading an app for persistent iOS app problems (Roblox iOS troubleshooting; Apple Support).
Before deleting Roblox, make sure you know your username and password or can recover access to the account. Account progress and purchases are generally tied to the Roblox account, but deleting an app can remove data stored locally. Apple warns that app data may be lost when an app is deleted.
- Press and hold the Roblox icon, choose the option to delete the app, and confirm.
- If the issue has persisted immediately after a restart, restart the iPhone now.
- Reinstall Roblox from the official App Store listing.
- Sign in and test more than one experience.
On iPhone, there is no Android-style Roblox cache-clearing menu to use as a substitute for this test. iOS’s Offload App option removes the app while attempting to keep its documents and data; that can help when storage is the main concern, but retaining app data may also retain the problem. For a clean installation test, delete and reinstall instead. Do not download Roblox from unofficial websites or third-party app stores.

Use the fix that matches the special case
Roblox says to update, but the App Store only shows “Open”
This is an update loop, not the general fix for crashes. Roblox’s workaround is to refresh the App Store cache: tap the same bottom navigation icon ten times, force-close the App Store, reopen it, and update Roblox directly from the store. See Roblox’s iOS update-loop instructions.
Roblox shows “No Network”
First update Roblox, then try Wi-Fi and cellular data separately. If other apps also have connection trouble on Wi-Fi, restart the router. If you use a VPN, filtering, custom DNS, or parental-control service, test temporarily without it if you are permitted to do so. On managed or school-issued iPhones, restrictions or network filters may affect access.
Check Settings → General → Date & Time → Set Automatically, especially if the message appears alongside login or authentication problems. Roblox includes checking the device’s date and time in its iOS technical troubleshooting guidance. A disconnect or timeout is not the same as the app crashing.

Roblox has a separate page for the iOS “No Network” message (Roblox’s No Network guidance). Because support-page version details can lag the App Store, use the App Store to determine whether your installed app has an update.
Only one experience crashes
Try at least one other experience, ideally one that is less demanding. If those work, note the affected experience’s name and report the issue to its creator or Roblox support. A single experience may have its own scripting, assets, memory demands, or compatibility problem; that pattern is useful evidence, not proof of a particular cause.
The crash began after an update or happens on several Apple devices
Record the Roblox version, iOS version, and when the problem began. Check Roblox’s official support channels for an announcement, and see whether other apps work normally. Roblox Developer Forum users have reported mobile crashes following an update across Apple devices, but those reports are not official confirmation of a widespread incident or its cause (forum report; related report). If evidence points to a Roblox-side regression, repeated reinstallations may not help; wait for an official update or resolution rather than resetting the phone.
Contact the right support team
If Roblox still crashes after updating and reinstalling, send Roblox support enough information to reproduce the problem. Roblox asks for details such as the username, error messages, device model, and steps that trigger the issue (Roblox iOS technical issues).

If several apps are closing unexpectedly or the iPhone itself is restarting or becoming unresponsive, contact Apple rather than treating it as a Roblox-only issue. Apple advises contacting the app developer when one App Store app remains broken after its standard steps; broader device symptoms point beyond that single app (Apple Support).
