The code does not identify a Trackmania-specific cause. Try the steps below in order, testing the game after each one.
What CE-100096-6 means
PlayStation categorizes CE-100096-6 as an application error and describes it as a problem loading the application. That message does not establish whether the cause is the game, the console software, or something else. Sony’s code-specific support page lists two recommended actions.
Before troubleshooting, note whether other PS5 applications open. This is useful information to share with support, but it does not by itself diagnose the cause.
Try Sony’s two recommended steps
1. Update PS5 system software
Sony recommends updating the system software to the latest version. On the console, open Settings > System > System Software > System Software Update and Settings, then select Update System Software and follow the prompts if an update is available. Sony’s PS5 system software instructions cover the update process.

A PS4 or PS5 console with a wired connection via a LAN cable is recommended. Version 4.0 of the Remote Play App on iOS and iPadOS or version 4.1 on macOS is required for games to be playable with the controller over Bluetooth.
When the update is complete and the console is ready, try launching Trackmania again.
2. Fully power-cycle the PS5
- Turn off the PS5 completely; do not leave it in Rest Mode.
- Unplug the console’s power cable.
- Reconnect the power cable.
- Turn on the PS5 and try opening Trackmania.
This follows the sequence on Sony’s CE-100096-6 support page. Sony does not state that either step is guaranteed to resolve the error.

Why this is not a list of four confirmed fixes
Sony’s exact-code guidance gives two actions, not four, and the official material cited here does not confirm a Trackmania-specific fix for CE-100096-6. Ubisoft’s PS4 general performance troubleshooting and PlayStation Ubisoft Connect login guidance address different situations. Their suggestions, such as reinstalling a game or rebuilding the database, should not be presented as proven remedies for this error on PS5.

If the error remains after both steps, contact PlayStation Support and, if needed, Ubisoft Support. Give them the exact code and message, your PS5 system software version, the game version, and whether other PS5 applications load. Sony directs users who still need help to PlayStation Support; neither company’s cited guidance promises a particular resolution or timeframe.
