If mouse controls in Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave feel inaccurate or stop responding, first check that you are using a Joy-Con 2 in mouse mode, then test it on a stable, flat, nonreflective surface. Nintendo also says to attach the Joy-Con 2 strap before using mouse controls. These checks address the known setup conditions; the available official notes do not identify a confirmed mouse-control bug or a guaranteed hardware fix.

Confirm mouse mode and the controller
The game’s optional mouse input uses Joy-Con 2 controllers; the available sources do not establish support for a standard PC mouse. Nintendo describes mouse and button controls as switching seamlessly. A game-specific guide reports that placing the right Joy-Con 2 on a flat surface activates mouse mode by default, while lifting it returns to button controls. If it keeps switching unexpectedly, check the game’s control settings; the guide says automatic switching can be changed, but does not give an exact menu path or label. Nintendo’s game page describes the feature, and RPG Site’s controls guide provides the reported switching behavior.

Try a different surface
Place the Joy-Con 2 on a stable, flat surface such as a table. Avoid glass, highly reflective surfaces, materials or fabrics that may not track properly, and uneven surfaces such as your lap. Nintendo’s Joy-Con 2 mouse guidance identifies these conditions as potential sources of tracking trouble.

Clear the area and use the strap
If you have been using the controller on your lap or another uneven surface, move to a flat surface and make sure there are no obstructions between the controllers and the console. Attach the Joy-Con 2 strap before using mouse controls, as Nintendo instructs.

Install the current game update
Nintendo’s update history, accessed October 7, 2026, lists Ver. 1.0.1, released September 16, 2026, as the latest update recorded there. Its notes say it fixed “various issues to create a smoother gaming experience,” but do not identify mouse input as a specific fix. Check the official update history for the current record.
Check the in-game control display
The mouse controls are intended for moving units and accessing information, with the option to switch back to button controls. RPG Site reports that the right Joy-Con 2’s R and ZR buttons act as left and right clicks, respectively, and describes additional actions such as zooming while standing and switching units. During maps, the cursor can select grid positions or enemies. Because these bindings come from a secondary guide, use the game’s own control display if an action differs or you need to confirm a binding.

If the cursor is still inaccurate or unresponsive
Once you have checked the mode, surface, surroundings, strap, and update, the reviewed official sources do not identify a known mouse-control defect or provide a Joy-Con 2 sensor test. Persistent trouble therefore does not by itself establish whether the cause is the game or the controller. Contact Nintendo Support for diagnosis rather than assuming a replacement will solve the problem.
