To make your flight energy last longer in AION 2, use ordinary flight or glide for routine travel and save airborne sprint for moments when you need extra speed. Keep an eye on the flight gauge and land before it empties: NCSOFT Taiwan’s official guide says flight and glide consume the gauge, and running out causes your character to fall. A wing-folding technique is also reported by a recent guide, but it is not confirmed as a universal mechanic.
Use ordinary flight or glide for routine travel
A Power Up Gaming guide published October 1, 2026 reports that airborne sprint drains the flight meter faster than ordinary flight or gliding. If conserving energy matters more than reaching your destination quickly, avoid holding sprint throughout a trip; use Shift only for a brief burst when the extra speed is useful. This comparison is a secondary-source report, not an independently verified drain measurement.
NCSOFT Taiwan’s official guide says both flight and glide consume the gauge. It lists V to start or end flight, Shift to accelerate, and Space to toggle glide. These controls come from a regional guide that warns some details may differ in-game, so check your own client’s control guide and HUD before relying on those keys.
Watch the gauge and land before it empties
The official Taiwan guide warns that running out of flight energy in the air causes a fall. It does not quantify fall damage, so do not assume you can safely spend the entire gauge before landing. Check the HUD during travel and head for a landing spot while you still have energy to maneuver.

Power Up Gaming also reports that the meter recovers after landing. The guide does not establish a recovery rate or time, so treat landing as a reported way to begin recovery rather than planning around a fixed number of seconds.
Try wing-folding only as a reported technique
Power Up Gaming describes a method intended to preserve momentum while reducing energy use: accelerate with W and Shift, fold the wings, then redeploy them when your speed starts to fade. The guide characterizes energy drain while folded as minimal or zero, but that claim has not been independently confirmed across clients. It also recommends practicing in open areas.
Rank #2
- In an open area, accelerate using W and Shift.
- Fold your wings and let the character carry momentum.
- When speed fades, redeploy your wings and continue or land.
Because this is guide-reported rather than confirmed behavior, monitor your gauge while trying it and be ready to land. Do not rely on the technique near hazards or where a fall would be costly.

Aion2 Codex’s September 29, 2026 community guide gives estimates of about 15 seconds early on and about 20 seconds after first ascension. It says those figures come from a single first-impressions video and a stress-test build, not official settings. They should not be treated as guaranteed flight durations for the current game or every region and client.
