Build a forecast from your own confirmed Super Chat and Super Sticker revenue in YouTube Analytics, divided by comparable public live hours; then model low, typical, and high outcomes from your channel’s history. Treat the result as an estimate, not a promise.
What to count as Super Chat income
Super Chat and Super Stickers are viewer purchases that highlight messages or images in live chat. They are available only to eligible creators and streams. For forecasting, use the confirmed Supers revenue reported for your channel—not the total amount viewers may have spent at checkout.
YouTube says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google, calculated after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees are deducted. YouTube currently covers transaction costs, including card fees. This is the documented share of confirmed revenue, not a guarantee that you receive 70% of every displayed purchase price in every geography or payment flow. Your agreement and Studio-reported revenue are the practical references. YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers help page explains the share.
YouTube also says partner agreements do not guarantee how much, or whether, a creator will be paid. A forecast is a planning tool, not an earnings promise. YouTube’s partner earnings overview states this explicitly.

Check eligibility before projecting revenue
First confirm that Supers are available to your channel and the live formats you plan to include. YouTube lists requirements including being at least 18, living in a supported country or region, and accepting the Commerce Product Module (or the former addendum). Eligible live streams and Premieres need live chat enabled for Supers. Feature availability and YPP access requirements can vary, so check the channel’s current status in YouTube Studio and consult YouTube’s Super Chat and Super Stickers eligibility information.
YouTube’s expanded YPP page lists, for the fan-funding features it describes, 500 subscribers, three public uploads in the last 90 days, and either 3,000 qualified public watch hours in 365 days or 3 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days, subject to other requirements. These thresholds do not by themselves establish that Supers are enabled for a particular channel or stream. Check the current expanded YPP eligibility details.

A Super Chat or Super Sticker removed for violating YouTube policies may result in YouTube donating its portion of the revenue to charity, according to the Supers help page. Do not assume every transaction will remain in the reported total.
Build a channel-specific hourly baseline
Use a consistent lookback period and count the same kinds of streams in both the revenue and hours totals. In YouTube Analytics, find Supers revenue under Revenue → How you make money. YouTube documents that report location in its Analytics revenue reporting help.

- Choose comparable dates. Start with a recent period and also examine a longer window that can reveal seasonality. Use the same date ranges for revenue and live hours.
- Record confirmed creator Supers revenue. Pull the Supers figure for each chosen period from Analytics. Keep it separate from ads, memberships, Premium, and other revenue.
- Count eligible public live hours. Include only the hours that match the revenue set: public live hours for which Supers could be enabled. Exclude private, unlisted, or otherwise ineligible activity if it is not represented in the same way in your reporting.
- Separate unlike formats. If an always-on ambience feed, a host-led show, and a scheduled event attract different purchasing behavior, calculate their baselines separately where reporting allows. A blended average can hide meaningful differences.
- Calculate revenue per live hour. Divide confirmed creator Supers revenue by eligible public live hours for each period.
Historical creator Supers revenue per live hour = confirmed creator Supers revenue ÷ eligible public live hours
This is a practical modeling method, not a formula published by YouTube. If you project from the hourly baseline, use:

Projected creator Supers revenue = historical revenue per live hour × planned eligible live hours
Turn the baseline into a range
Do not rely on a single unusually strong period as the forecast. Calculate the hourly rate for several comparable windows—for example, recent weeks and a longer seasonal view—and use your own observed low, typical, and high periods as scenarios. Apply each scenario’s rate to the planned eligible live hours. Label the dates and assumptions beside the estimate so it is clear what the forecast represents.

- Low: use a weaker comparable period from your own channel history.
- Base: use a representative or typical period, rather than simply the most recent if it was unusual.
- High: use a stronger comparable period, while noting whether a small number of large purchases drove it.
For each scenario, record the format, schedule, planned eligible hours, concurrent-viewer or audience-hour assumption if available, and any seasonal factor you are applying. There is no official YouTube benchmark for Super Chat income per viewer, per hour, or for an always-on channel; generic creator rates cannot substitute for your own channel’s results.
Optional: model against audience-hours
If you have dependable audience-hour data for the same streams and dates, you can calculate a second rate: confirmed creator Supers revenue per 1,000 audience-hours. Multiply that rate by expected audience-hours to form another estimate. Make the audience assumptions explicit and treat this as a descriptive comparison, not proof that audience-hours cause purchases or a guarantee of future results.
Compare the hourly and audience-hour views where possible. A change in revenue may reflect a different schedule, format, season, audience pattern, or a few unusually large Supers—not simply more streaming hours.
Why overall RPM is not a Super Chat rate
YouTube defines RPM as revenue after YouTube’s share per 1,000 views. It combines several revenue sources, including ads, YouTube Premium, memberships, Super Chat, and Super Stickers. It is useful for understanding overall channel monetization, but it does not isolate Supers. Forecast Supers from the Supers report instead. See YouTube’s RPM and revenue metrics explanation.

Common forecasting mistakes
- Multiplying views by overall RPM: that estimates blended revenue, not Supers specifically.
- Using viewer spend as creator revenue: use confirmed Supers revenue from Analytics, mindful of YouTube’s stated deductions and share.
- Assuming every hour performs alike: separate formats or schedules when their histories differ.
- Projecting a spike as normal: inspect whether one or a few large purchases explain a strong period; keep a range rather than a single-point promise.
- Counting hours when Supers were unavailable: verify live chat and feature eligibility, and match the hours to the revenue period.
- Treating a forecast as guaranteed payment: YouTube says partner agreements do not guarantee earnings; report the result as an estimate.
