Domain Shards are in-game unlock items. To use one, you need an Innate Technique that supports a Domain Expansion, obtain the shard, buy that technique’s Domain in the Skill Shop, and equip it to a keybind. Shards are reportedly found in some chests and may appear in the Curse Market, but current drop rates, stock and exact level or mastery gates are not consistently documented.
What a Domain Shard does
A Domain Shard is used to unlock a Domain Expansion for an eligible Innate Technique. Owning a shard alone does not give every technique a Domain: not all Innate Techniques have one, and the available roster can change with updates.
How to get a Domain Shard
Open eligible chests
Third-party guides report Domain Shards as possible chest rewards. One older guide specifically associates them with Grade Chests earned by completing Mission Board missions. This is a possible reward, not a guarantee for every chest type or mission, so check the current reward display in-game.
Check the Curse Market
Guides also report that the Curse Market can stock Domain Shards in exchange for Demon Fingers or other valuables. Market inventory and exchange costs are subject to change. Compare the live price with the value of the materials you already have before spending them.

Other reported sources
Search results and community discussion mention AFK rewards and boss or raid chests, but a current, universal reward table was not established. Treat these as possible sources only when the live game shows a shard in the relevant reward pool.
Luck boosts
Older advice recommends using items such as Luck Vials or Lucky Cats before opening chests. Their current effect and availability for Domain Shard drops are not verified, so do not assume they increase your odds unless the game currently states that they do.

Are there drop rates or a guaranteed farming method?
No dependable current drop rate or guaranteed farming time is established. A numerical rate appearing in one recent third-party guide is not corroborated by the other available guides or an official game source. Older coverage generally describes shards as rare without agreeing on a percentage.
For that reason, the practical approach is to run content that currently offers the relevant chests, monitor Curse Market stock, and avoid planning around an unverified number. The sources do not prove that either chest farming or the market is always the fastest route.

How to use a Domain Shard
- Equip an eligible Innate Technique. Confirm that the technique has a Domain Expansion in the current in-game technique or Skill Shop information.
- Obtain a Domain Shard. Use a shard from your inventory when the game presents the relevant use option.
- Open the Skill Shop. Go through the Skills menu and locate the Domain Expansion associated with your technique.
- Purchase the expansion. Spend the listed currency or materials if the shop allows the purchase.
- Equip it to a keybind. Select an available keybind slot so you can activate the Domain during play.
Guide-reported mechanics say that most Domain meters fill by dealing or taking damage. Verify the meter behavior and activation prompt in your current game version, since these details can change.
Requirements to verify before spending a shard
- Technique compatibility: the Innate Technique must currently support a Domain Expansion.
- Level and mastery: no single current level or mastery requirement is supported by the available sources; older guides disagree.
- Shop availability: confirm that the Domain appears under Skills after you obtain the shard.
- Costs: read the live purchase prompt rather than relying on an older currency figure.
- Keybind space: make sure an available slot exists before purchasing or equipping.
Common mistakes
Expecting every technique to have a Domain
Domain access is technique-specific. Check the current roster instead of assuming a shard unlocks a Domain for your equipped technique.

Relying on an old level requirement
Published guides list different gates, and the current unlock-flow description does not establish one universal level. Use the shard prompt, technique mastery screen and Skill Shop as the authority for your version.
Assuming a chest guarantees a shard
Chest inclusion is reported as a chance-based reward. Opening one chest, or one particular chest type, does not guarantee a shard.

Spending scarce market materials without checking stock
Curse Market inventory and exchange terms can change. Inspect the current listing before trading Demon Fingers or other valuables.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Can you buy a physical Domain Shard?
No. In this context, “Domain Shard” means a Jujutsu Infinite item, not a physical product. Merchandise, guidebooks, gaming accessories and Roblox currency gift cards are separate products and do not directly answer how to unlock a Domain Expansion.
The Bottom Line
Get Domain Shards by checking current chest rewards and the Curse Market, then use one with a compatible Innate Technique through Skills in the Skill Shop and equip the purchased Domain to a keybind. Because drop rates, inventories and requirements are version-sensitive, trust the live in-game prompts over older numerical guides.
