There are four ways to have children in inZOI: have a Zoi become pregnant, adopt a child, use medical help to create a child, or add a child while setting up a family in Create a Zoi. Marriage is not required for pregnancy. Adoption and medical-help creation are options you access on a computer or laptop; medical help costs 1,000 Mew.
Choose the child-adding method that fits your household

The three in-game routes—pregnancy, adoption, and medical help—were introduced in KRAFTON’s v0.2.0 patch notes, dated June 13, 2025 (game version 20250612.4545.W). The practical steps below reflect gameplay guidance updated September 4, 2026.

How to have a Zoi become pregnant
- Choose an eligible pair. Current gameplay guidance and KRAFTON’s technical eligibility documentation describe pregnancy as requiring one male and one female Zoi. The female Zoi must not already be pregnant, both Zois must be at least Youth age, and the household needs room for another Zoi.
- Start the interaction. Select a Zoi, open the Romance interactions with their partner, and choose “Suggest Having a Baby.” A positive romantic relationship may make the interaction easier to find or succeed with.
- Accept the suggestion and take a pregnancy test. If the interaction is accepted, the female Zoi can take a pregnancy test to check whether she is pregnant.
- Wait for the birth. A successful pregnancy lasts about three in-game days. When it is time, use the birth interaction to add the newborn to the household.
Marriage is not a prerequisite. KRAFTON announced the change in its June 6, 2025 developer letter; the v0.2.0 notes subsequently introduced non-marital birth. The ModKit’s Condition_CanPregnancy documentation describes eligibility checks, not a full player-facing walkthrough. It also says the condition returns false for autonomy interactions when either Zoi belongs to the currently played household, so that technical rule should not be mistaken for a restriction on initiating the player-directed interaction.
How to adopt a child
- Use a computer or laptop in the household.
- Select “Adopt a Child” and follow the in-game prompts.
KRAFTON’s patch notes say adoption has age and property requirements but do not enumerate them in the cited passage. A gameplay guide updated September 4, 2026 says a Young Adult or older Zoi can initiate adoption, and that adoption is available to single Zois as well as couples of any gender combination. If you want a child without a pregnancy sequence, adoption is the direct route.

How to create a child with medical help
- Use a computer or laptop and select “Create a Child with Medical Help.”
- Follow the prompts and, if desired, choose another Zoi to contribute traits.
- Pay the stated fee of 1,000 Mew to complete the procedure.
KRAFTON’s v0.2.0 notes establish the 1,000 Mew cost and the option to choose another Zoi so the child’s traits reflect both Zois. Gameplay guidance also lists this method for single Zois and couples who cannot or do not want to use the pregnancy route.
How to start a new family with a child
When creating a family in Create a Zoi, use the plus button to add another Zoi, then assign the relationship—for example, parent and child. This creates an established family for a new household rather than requiring you to add a child later through gameplay.
For an existing household, the family guide updated September 4, 2026 also describes this route: City Map → Manage Zois → Manage Family → Add Family Member.
What can block pregnancy or adoption?
- Age: Gameplay guidance updated September 4, 2026 says only Young Adult or older Zois can initiate pregnancy or adoption. KRAFTON’s technical pregnancy condition uses the Youth age threshold for the two Zois involved in pregnancy.
- Household capacity: KRAFTON’s pregnancy eligibility condition checks whether the household has room. The same family guide reports a maximum of eight Zois per household, so a full household can prevent adding a newborn.
- Pregnancy eligibility: The documented natural-pregnancy condition requires one male and one female Zoi, and the female Zoi cannot already be pregnant.
- Adoption requirements: Adoption has age and property requirements, but the cited official patch-note passage does not specify the property criteria.
These details reflect the cited update and guides; game mechanics can change in later versions.
