To invite Krobus to live with you in Stardew Valley, reach 10 hearts with him, upgrade your farmhouse to Level 2 or higher, then give him a Void Ghost Pendant. If you are unmarried, he moves in three days after accepting it.
What you need before inviting Krobus
- 10 hearts with Krobus: This is the friendship threshold for the roommate invitation. You do not need to pursue a romance event; the arrangement is platonic. See the Friendship guide.
- A Level 2 farmhouse or higher: Krobus will not accept the pendant if your farmhouse is below the second upgrade.
- A Void Ghost Pendant: You need this item to make the invitation.
How to invite Krobus, step by step
- Build your friendship with Krobus to 10 hearts. Check your relationship progress in the in-game social menu.
- Upgrade your farmhouse to Level 2 or higher. If Krobus refuses the invitation, make sure this upgrade is complete.
- Get a Void Ghost Pendant. The Desert Trader sells one for 200 Void Essence after you reach 10 hearts with Krobus. The pendant can also drop from monsters in Skull Cavern. The Void Ghost Pendant page lists these sources.
- Give the pendant to Krobus. If you are not married, he moves into the farmhouse three days later.
The pendant cannot be obtained if you are already married or engaged to a marriage candidate, according to the item guide. Check your relationship status before counting on the Desert Trader route.

What changes when Krobus moves in
Krobus gets a dedicated room on the right side of the bedroom. He leaves the farmhouse only on rainy days, when he stands on the porch. The arrangement uses some marriage mechanics, but it remains a friendship rather than a romance.

| Moving out | You can evict him for free using the book in the Mayor’s Manor. Afterward, he becomes silent toward you and refuses gifts; the Dark Shrine of Memory can erase his memories. |
| Stardrop | At 13 hearts, he can give you a Stardrop if you have not already received one this way. |

If Krobus will not accept the pendant
- Confirm that you have reached 10 hearts with Krobus.
- Make sure your farmhouse is upgraded to Level 2 or higher.
- Check whether you are married or engaged. The pendant’s availability is restricted in those states.
