To get more fighter upgrade materials in The King of Fighters AFK, check the in-game item details or rate information for the exact material you need, then spend attempts on activities whose reward panels list it. Sources, limits, and rewards can differ by item and change with updates, so confirm the live panels before using limited attempts or currency.
Find the source for the exact material you need
“Fighter upgrade materials” can mean different resources, and the game does not have one universal farming activity for all of them. Start with the material shown on the fighter’s upgrade screen rather than searching for a general-purpose farm.
- Identify the item. Note the exact material name in the fighter’s upgrade screen.
- Open its item details or rate information. Netmarble’s KOF AFK Game Guide points players to item-rate information. Use the in-game view to see which sources currently list that item.
- Check the listed source’s reward panel. Confirm the material is included and note any remaining attempts, unlock conditions, or event dates shown in the game.
The official guide documents the item-rate lookup, but the published materials do not establish a complete, current table of quantities or attempt caps for every material. Use the live game screens for those details.
Choose activities by their current rewards
Compare only activities that actually list your target item. Check whether the reward is guaranteed, tied to stage completion or placement, or available only during an event. Also weigh the number of attempts left and any scarce currency an activity consumes.

- Pre-painted and finished product
- Scale: 1/7
- Size: Approx. 8.1 inches (205 mm) (including pedestal)
- Material: PVC
Netmarble’s challenge-content tips, published June 12, 2025 and updated September 18 (UTC+0), describe growth-material rewards and rewards tied to final placement in World Boss Challenge. This makes the in-game reward panel especially important: a placement-dependent reward is not the same as a fixed stage reward, and the tips do not identify one best activity for every fighter resource.
Check progression modes, routine rewards, and events
As you unlock more content, check its reward panel for the material you are missing. Netmarble has described Growth Dungeons and other progression modes in its first-anniversary announcement; which stages and rewards are available to you can depend on account progression and later updates.
Rank #2
- A Kotobukiya Japanese import
- From the hit game series
- Iori is sculpted in a cold, commanding stance that embodies his mastery of the purple flames
- Measures approximately 9.7 inches tall including base
- Collect routine mission and challenge rewards when they include the needed material.
- Inspect event notices and in-game event rewards before committing attempts. Event schedules and rewards may change; Netmarble’s summon-event notice carries that qualification.
- After an update, re-check item sources and rewards rather than assuming a previous route or rate still applies.
Use card conversion carefully
A separate conversion system may help with eligible extra Fighter Cards, but it is not a general method for farming upgrade materials. In its March 10, 2026 update notice, Netmarble said eligible extra cards for 10-star Fighters can be unlinked for rewards, specifying Fighter Origin and, for Legendary Fighters, DNA. Review the current in-game rules before using the system: the notice flags the action as irreversible.

The official KOF AFK web shop sells digital goods for a game-linked account, with purchases sent to the in-game mailbox. Shop availability and listings can vary. This is an optional purchase route, not an earned-material source or a way to determine the best activity to farm.
