If you mean a new Roblox feature being tested with players, you can’t switch your account into its test group: Roblox assigns accounts randomly, and says that assignment cannot be changed. Watch the official Roblox Blog for announcements about wider availability. If you mean a Studio test build or one game’s beta, the route is different—and depends on whether you’re a creator or a player.
What does “Roblox beta” mean?
There isn’t one universal Roblox beta enrollment. The phrase usually refers to one of three things, each controlled by a different party:
| What you mean | Who controls access | What to do | Scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| A Roblox feature test | Roblox assigns player accounts to test groups | Wait for possible assignment and follow official announcements | Roblox feature, but only for assigned accounts during the test |
| Studio Early Access | The Roblox program team | Apply through the signup link in the relevant official announcement; selection is not guaranteed | Creators testing experimental Studio features |
| A particular game’s beta | The experience creator | Follow that game’s access instructions or request an invite | That experience only |
How do I get Roblox beta as a player?
For Roblox-wide player feature tests, there is no opt-in button or reliable workaround. Roblox Support explains that different accounts may see different versions during an A/B test: “Your account is randomly placed in a test group. Your account’s role in any test cannot be changed.” Read the Roblox Support explanation of A/B tests.
Keep an eye on the Roblox Blog for announcements when a feature expands. Roblox also says it rarely gives specific feature release dates because build timing is difficult to predict; see When is a Feature Coming? Reinstalling the app, changing account settings, buying Robux, or purchasing a physical product will not change an account’s test-group assignment.

How can creators try Roblox Studio Early Access?
Roblox’s Early Access Programs offer selected creators custom Studio versions with experimental features and upcoming updates. They are not the same as a general player beta or a permanent, universal Studio Beta switch. Early Access features are still in active development and may be less stable or subject to API changes.
- Look for an announcement about the specific program on the Roblox Developer Forum.
- Use the signup link in that announcement and provide the requested information.
- Wait for the program team to contact you if selected. For the program described in Roblox’s September 5, 2025 announcement, selected testers were to be contacted directly within two weeks; selection is not guaranteed.
- Follow that program’s instructions for testing and feedback. Roblox says Early Access builds are for testing, not for publishing products built with Early Access features.
Read the announcement for the particular program you want: eligibility and timing belong to that program, not to a single Roblox-wide beta application.

How do I join a beta for one Roblox game?
The experience’s creator decides whether its test is closed, open, limited-time, or otherwise restricted. Roblox’s beta testing guide describes options including inviting players, accepting group join requests and assigning an appropriate group role, or making an open beta public. Check the game’s description, creator group, or official community channels for its access instructions.
Experience Betas and beta mode
Roblox’s Experience Betas feature lets an experience creator test with a subset of players without appearing in Home Recommendations. The creator configures it in Creator Hub; it is not a player enrollment switch. Roblox says the experience can remain accessible, searchable, and linkable. The documented setup is: open the experience dashboard in Creator Hub, go to Settings, set Privacy to Public, enable “Enable beta mode,” and save. See Roblox’s Experience Betas announcement.

When a game charges for beta access
Some experience creators may temporarily charge Robux for access to a closed beta. That purchase grants access to that specific game; it does not enroll your account in Roblox feature tests or Studio Early Access. Roblox notes that this paid-access model is not available on Xbox. Check the game’s own terms and Roblox’s paid access documentation before paying.

Roblox’s September 2026 RDC announcement said a new notification system would arrive in Studio Beta in October and in full release by the end of 2026. That is a dated example of an announcement naming a feature and its planned stages—not a promise that every player can opt in. Check the RDC 2026 announcement for its stated context and timing, and look for whether an announcement concerns player accounts, Studio creators, or a specific experience.
