In Egg, Inc., the main way to earn Soul Eggs is to build up farm earnings and then prestige. Soul Eggs raise your earnings bonus, helping you progress further; because their gains slow as earnings accumulate, the best time to prestige depends on your progress and current goal—not on a universal threshold.
What Soul Eggs do

How to earn Soul Eggs
Prestige after building earnings
Prestige is the primary route: Soul Eggs are awarded based on earnings generated since your previous prestige. In practice, develop your farm and generate earnings, then use the prestige option to start a new run with Soul Eggs added to your persistent progress. More earnings generally means more Soul Eggs, but the rate slows as earnings rise, so extending a run indefinitely is not automatically worthwhile. Other reported sources
The community-maintained Egg, Inc. wiki also lists challenges, trophies, Daily Gift Calendar rewards, some contracts, and seasonal rewards as additional sources. These are supplementary opportunities rather than a replacement for the main prestige loop. See the Soul Egg reference.

When to prestige
Use a prestige when progress on your current farm has slowed and staying there does not serve a specific goal. This is a practical rule of thumb, not a fixed game requirement: you may choose to remain on a farm if you are working toward a contract, trophy, or other objective. A community strategy guide recommends building earnings on the strongest egg you can reasonably reach during the run before deciding. Prestige guidance
Prestige resets temporary progress on the current farm, including its chickens, common research, habitats, vehicles, and egg. The community reference says persistent resources and upgrades are retained; check the in-game prestige screen before confirming so you understand the reset in your current version. Improve Soul Egg gains with Epic Research
Two Epic Research upgrades are directly relevant to Soul Egg progression:
- Soul Food raises the bonus provided by each Soul Egg.
- Prestige Bonus increases Soul Egg gains when you prestige.

Use boosts and artifacts according to your situation
Boosts such as Soul Beacons, earnings boosts, boost beacons, and tachyon prisms appear in community strategy discussions for prestige runs. Their usefulness depends on your available items, permit, and whether you are aiming for one large run or repeated prestiges. Artifacts and stones can also influence earnings or Soul Egg strategy, but the right setup depends on what you own and can equip.
