A 24/7 stream of old videos can help people discover your channel, but it does not guarantee subscribers. Treat it as an experiment: make the stream’s subject and value clear, give viewers a reason to return, and track subscriber changes alongside YouTube Analytics metrics. Before you start, check that you have rights to stream and archive every item, and understand that repeating old videos may raise monetization concerns if the channel adds little original value.
Make the stream worth discovering
Choose a focused subject that matches what your channel offers—such as a particular game, series, guide, or event—and make that subject clear in the title, thumbnail, and description. Explain why a viewer might choose this channel and what they can expect from it. A stream that looks like an unrelated pile of old uploads gives viewers little basis to subscribe.
Give viewers a reason to come back
Invite viewers to subscribe in a natural way tied to future value: for example, explain what kind of new guides, curated playlists, or channel updates they will find. Do not imply that subscribing is required to watch, or promise a particular result from the stream.
Add useful curation where it fits
Consider whether the stream can offer genuine context or curation around the older videos, rather than presenting unchanged repeats as new original work. The goal is to make the programming useful to viewers; changing a title or placing old videos in a loop does not by itself establish that the channel has added meaningful original contribution.

Test the format with YouTube Analytics
There is no official subscriber-conversion formula, prescribed 24/7 schedule, or proven restart cadence for a loop of older videos. Compare different stream packaging or programming periods as experiments, and avoid treating one metric as proof that the stream caused subscriber growth.
- Impressions and thumbnail click-through rate: Use these to assess whether the packaging is earning views.
- Watch time: Check whether viewers spend time with the stream.
- Peak and average concurrent viewers: Use these livestream measures to understand how many people are watching at the same time.
- Subscriber changes: Track them alongside the other measures, while recognizing that a change alone does not show what caused it.
YouTube documents these metrics in its YouTube Analytics guidance. Compare like with like where possible—for example, periods with a similar topic and audience—so you are not confusing a packaging change with a completely different program.

Check rights before streaming or archiving
You need the necessary rights for both the live stream and its archive. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the creator to have the rights needed for worldwide exploitation of live and archived content, including applicable music rights. A license should cover the uses and territories you intend, not just possession of a video file. See YouTube’s terms.
Third-party material can interrupt a live stream
YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match can cause a placeholder, warning, interruption, or termination; an archive can also receive a Content ID claim after the stream ends. If you have a license for third-party material, YouTube advises asking the rights holder to allowlist your channel through Content ID. A license does not ensure that automated checks will leave a live stream uninterrupted. Details are in YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance.

Copyright permission and monetization originality are separate
YouTube’s reused-content policy concerns whether a channel repurposes existing material without significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value. The review applies to the channel as a whole, and permission to use material does not itself establish monetization eligibility. YouTube also clarified on July 15, 2025 that its renamed “inauthentic content” policy covers repetitive or mass-produced content that is ineligible for monetization. Read the current YouTube channel monetization policies.
That means a stream can be copyright-cleared and still raise a separate reused-content or inauthentic-content concern. Think about the channel’s overall contribution and programming, not only whether each video can legally be shown.

Keep a public archive if you are relying on watch hours
YouTube says qualified watch hours can include public archived livestreams. Streams that are not archived do not count; its eligibility guidance also excludes unlisted, deleted, or non-video-on-demand livestreams. If you are relying on a stream’s watch time, check that the archive remains public and is available as a VOD. See YouTube’s YPP eligibility guidance and its explanation of qualified watch hours.
Archive status does not guarantee that watch time will qualify in every circumstance, nor does accumulating qualified hours guarantee YPP acceptance. YouTube reviews channels against its policies.

Know the published YouTube Partner Program thresholds for India
At the time these official eligibility thresholds were accessed (October 3, 2026), YouTube listed India as eligible for expanded YPP. The page distinguishes earlier access to fan-funding and Shopping features from the threshold for ad revenue. These are eligibility milestones, not a promise that a 24/7 stream will produce subscribers or that a channel will be accepted.
