The Climbing Gear set is hidden in three caves: find the Climbing Gear behind a waterfall in North Hyrule Plain Cave, the Climber’s Bandanna at the end of slippery Polymous Mountain Cave, and the Climbing Boots beneath the stairs in a drained ruin at Upland Zorana Byroad Cave. Each piece boosts climbing speed; upgrading all three to at least two stars unlocks a bonus that reduces stamina use for climbing jumps.

Where to find each piece

Piece Cave Route landmark Approximate chest coordinates
Climbing Gear (torso) North Hyrule Plain Cave Swim through the small waterfall -1230, 0771, 0100 (Nintendo Life); -1214, 0774, 0070 (Zelda Dungeon)
Climber’s Bandanna Polymous Mountain Cave Reach the altar at the end of the slippery cave 3713, 0494, 0310 (Nintendo Life); nearby coordinates are listed by Nintendo Life and Zelda Dungeon
Climbing Boots Upland Zorana Byroad Cave Drain the flooded ruin, then check beneath the stairs 2849, 0543, 0188 (Nintendo Life); Zelda Dungeon lists a nearby coordinate

Coordinates are approximate cross-checks, not a substitute for the cave name and landmarks: the consulted guides differ slightly on some chest locations. See the Nintendo Life guide and Zelda Dungeon’s Climbing Armor Set reference.

Get the Climbing Gear in North Hyrule Plain Cave

  1. Travel to Hyrule North Plain, near New Serenne Stable and Sinakawak Shrine. From the front of the stable, cross the field to the hole that leads into the upper part of North Hyrule Plain Cave.
  2. Drop into the water and deal with the Bubbulfrog, then continue farther into the cave until you reach a small waterfall.
  3. Swim through the waterfall to find the concealed chest containing the Climbing Gear.

Get the Climber’s Bandanna in Polymous Mountain Cave

  1. Go to Ihen-a Shrine at Mipha’s Court in Lanayru, east of Zora’s Domain.
  2. Drop down the mountain’s west side to the gray, rocky second tier above King Dorephan’s area. A Wizzrobe is near the cave entrance.
  3. Enter Polymous Mountain Cave and work your way through its long, wet, slippery passage to the altar at the far end. Slip-resisting food or Froggy armor can help you keep your footing. If you do not have much stamina, use stamina-restoring food and time climbing jumps carefully.
  4. Open the chest at the altar to collect the Climber’s Bandanna.

Get the Climbing Boots in Upland Zorana Byroad Cave

  1. Start south of Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, near the foot of Upland Zorana mountain, and enter Upland Zorana Byroad Cave.
  2. Break the rocks on the right, climb the route, and cut through the vines to enter the flooded ruin.
  3. At the far end of the ruin, use Ultrahand to raise the gate and drain the water.
  4. Return toward the stairs and search underneath them for the altar and chest containing the Climbing Boots.

What the set does and how to unlock its bonus

Each piece increases climbing speed. The set bonus, Climbing Jump Stamina Up, reduces the stamina consumed by climbing jumps, but it activates only when all three pieces have been upgraded to at least two stars at Great Fairy Fountains.

Zelda Dungeon lists the second-star materials as five Electric Keese Wings and five Hightail Lizards per piece. Since the bonus requires upgrading all three pieces, that listed tier calls for 15 of each material in total.
