Complete the questline that includes The Nurture of Shadows to earn the free Platinum Galdur Pup in Palia. First, finish the Main Story Quest through Something Wicked and complete Pieces of the Past. You do not need to buy Palia Coins or a Premium Store pet.
Check the quest prerequisites
Palia’s official Patch 0.192: Radiance Rising Update, published June 12, 2025, says you must be caught up through Something Wicked in the Main Story Quest and have completed Pieces of the Past before starting the three-part adventure. If either quest is unfinished, continue your story progress until both requirements are met.
Complete The Nurture of Shadows questline
-
Once eligible, begin the questline and use the active quest journal to track its objectives. The official patch notes describe a three-part adventure involving Tamala and the investigation of a strange cursed object.
-
During The Nurture of Shadows, a Palia Gaming Tools quest guide directs players to the Gardener in the Temple of the Roots in Bahari Bay. Follow your in-game journal for the next objective and any changes to the sequence.

Finish the questline. Its rewards include the Platinum Galdur Pup; the official notes describe it as “your very own tiny friend.”
The official patch notes do not spell out every objective, so the quest journal is the best source for the current step order rather than relying on a fixed walkthrough.

Claim and equip the pup
The Platinum Galdur Pup is the quest-earned pet, not one of the Premium Store variants. The community-run Official Palia Wiki page for the Platinum Galdur Pup identifies it as an equipable cosmetic pet. Once it is awarded, select it through the game’s pet or collections interface to equip it.
What else the questline rewards
Completing the questline also unlocks the Courier Saddlebag. According to the official Patch 0.192 notes, it adds four courier slots and can be used with any pet; it is not limited to the Platinum Galdur Pup.

Free Platinum pup versus paid Galdur Pups
The Platinum pup comes from the questline. The five original Premium Store variants—Copper, Silver, Golden, Iron, and Palium—were listed at 1,275 Palia Coins each in Patch 0.182: Summer Serenade Patch. That is a historical patch-note price, not a guarantee of current store pricing, and purchasing one is not a requirement for earning the Platinum pup.
