Find the Ruined Tool in Weavenest Murglin, behind a Needolin door in southeastern Bilewater. It can become one of three Silkshot tools, but the item page reports that choosing a repair makes the other variants unobtainable. Compare their reported firing styles and costs before you commit.
How to get the Ruined Tool
The Ruined Tool is described in-game as the remains of an ancient Weaver implement, broken and inoperable, that a skilled craftsbug may be able to repair. The item page places it in Weavenest Murglin, behind a Needolin door in southeastern Bilewater. It also reports that Bilewater can be reached through a breakable wall connected to eastern Sinner’s Road, making the item available in Act 1 according to that page. See the item page.

What does the Ruined Tool become?
Repairing it produces a Silkshot. The reported options are Hornet’s own repair at Mount Fay, a personalized version from the Twelfth Architect in the Underworks, or a modified version from Forge Daughter in Deep Docks. The item page says the alternatives cannot be obtained after one is repaired, so consider the reported differences before making the choice.
| Repair option | Reported firing behavior | Reported cost |
|---|---|---|
| Mount Fay: Hornet repairs the original | Charged beam, according to PC Gamer’s guide; no official numerical balance data is established. | 1 Craftmetal, as reported by the item page. |
| Underworks: Twelfth Architect makes a personalized variant | Three-shot burst, according to PC Gamer’s guide; no official numerical balance data is established. | 130 Rosaries and 1 Craftmetal, as reported by the item page. |
| Deep Docks: Forge Daughter makes a modified variant | Single, slower slug-like projectile, according to PC Gamer’s guide; no official numerical balance data is established. | 240 Rosaries and 1 Craftmetal, as reported by the item page. |
The behavior descriptions come from PC Gamer’s guide, not firsthand testing or official balance figures. Costs and the one-choice restriction are reported by the community-maintained item page.

Which Silkshot repair should you choose?
There is no source-backed universal best choice: the useful distinction is how each version is reported to fire, alongside its Rosary cost. The Mount Fay repair has no reported Rosary charge; the Architect’s option costs 130, and Forge Daughter’s costs 240. All three listed repairs require 1 Craftmetal. If you prefer to decide based on playstyle, consider whether a charged beam, burst, or slower single projectile better suits your approach. The firing descriptions are comparative guidance, not proof of which deals the most damage or performs best in every encounter.
Because the item page reports that the unchosen variants become unobtainable, wait to spend the Ruined Tool until you have decided which firing pattern you want. The item page and PC Gamer guide are community/editorial references rather than official Team Cherry documentation, so treat their mechanics and costs as reported details that could be revised.
