Return all three catches to the Wind Master to receive the rod.
Requirements before you start
- Reach level 800. The Wind Master quest line is level-gated.
- Have access to Northern Expedition and enough equipment, bait and time for rare mutation catches.
- Keep each qualifying catch in your inventory until you hand it to the Wind Master.
Where to find the Wind Master
Travel to Northern Expedition and climb to the upper area called Glacial Grotto. Follow the crystal formations and ladder route toward the upper section, where the Wind Master stands. Community maps list slightly different coordinates, so use the Glacial Grotto crystals and ladders as landmarks instead of relying on a single coordinate.

1. Catch and size the Shiny Bait Crate
Fish in the Sunstone Island cave or during a bait-crate abundance until you obtain a Shiny Bait Crate. Use Treasure appraisal to adjust its weight, then check the result before delivering it. The target range commonly cited for the quest is approximately 12.70–12.89 kg; a crate outside that range may not satisfy the objective.
2. Catch a Shiny King’s Blessing Pufferfish
Farm pufferfish at the Roslit Bay pufferfish abundance. Continue until the fish has both the King’s Blessing and Shiny requirements. A normal pufferfish, or one with only one of those properties, is not the requested delivery.

3. Catch a Shiny Blessed Whale Shark
Watch for Whale Shark events and fish during them. This is usually the most time-consuming delivery because the catch must be a Whale Shark with the Blessed and Shiny mutations. Do not sell or discard a qualifying shark before returning to the Wind Master.
How to claim the Wind Elemental
- Confirm that you are level 800 or higher.
- Go to Northern Expedition and climb to Glacial Grotto.
- Speak with the Wind Master to start or continue the delivery quest.
- Hand over the Shiny Bait Crate in the required weight range.
- Hand over the Shiny King’s Blessing Pufferfish.
- Hand over the Shiny Blessed Whale Shark.
- Talk to the Wind Master again after all three deliveries. The Wind Elemental is awarded as the quest reward.

The main trade-off
The rod combines exceptional lure speed and luck with extremely low control. That makes it attractive for fast, high-value fishing but harder to handle than a control-focused rod. Community recommendations include Quality, Controlled, Mystical, Herculean or Piercing enchants; these are player suggestions, not guaranteed best choices for every build.

Is the Wind Elemental Rod worth the effort?
For players who can manage its 0.055 control, the rod’s 555% lure speed, 255% luck, infinite weight capacity and mutation-oriented passives make it a powerful late-game reward. The acquisition is deliberately demanding: level 800 is required, the bait crate has a narrow weight target, and the pufferfish and whale shark need specific shiny and blessing combinations. Choose control-oriented enchantments or practice the reeling pattern if missed progress is a bigger problem than catch speed.
