To follow the original discovery route instead, find the Vengeful Spirit near Quel’Danil Lodge in the Hinterlands and loot the rune from it.
Fastest route: buy Wrath from a Rune Broker
Rune Brokers sell class runes and class skill books in faction capitals. Warcraft Tavern lists Wrath at one copper as of Phase 6. The current Wowhead guide, displayed for Patch 1.15.8, gives these broker locations:

Look for the Rune Broker in one of the listed areas and purchase Wrath. This avoids the travel and uncertain spawn timing involved in the original discovery method. Wowhead’s Season of Discovery rune guide lists the capital vendors; Warcraft Tavern’s Season of Discovery guide reports the one-copper price for Phase 6.
Original discovery route: kill the Vengeful Spirit
Wrath is a Paladin rune for the helm slot. The original method sends you to the Hinterlands to find the Vengeful Spirit around Quel’Danil Lodge, near coordinates 33,44. Wowhead identifies it as a level 45 non-elite undead and recommends being level 40 or higher for the trip.

- Train Sense Undead and activate it before searching; it helps you locate the spirit.
- Travel to Quel’Danil Lodge in the Hinterlands and search the area around 33,44.
- When the Vengeful Spirit appears, kill it and loot the Rune of Wrath.
Reports put the spirit’s appearance at night, but its schedule is not confirmed. Wowhead describes player reports of appearances after 9 PM server time, with reports differing on whether the window ends around 3 AM or as late as 6 AM. Warcraft Tavern gives an approximate 9 PM–3 AM server-time window. Treat those hours as a rough player-reported guide, not a guaranteed timer. If the spirit is not there, you can return later or use a Rune Broker instead.
Do you need to talk to Magister Falath?
Instructions and player reports conflict about Magister Falath in Ironforge. Some walkthroughs place a conversation with him after killing the spirit, while Wowhead comments say the rune drops directly from the Vengeful Spirit and Falath may only provide a clue; another comment recommends speaking to him first.

Loot the spirit first. If the rune does not register, speak with Falath; you can also follow the guide’s stated sequence and talk to him before attempting the discovery. The available reports do not establish that speaking to him is always required.
