Can Microsoft Rewards give you VALORANT Points directly?
No. Microsoft Rewards and Riot use separate redemption systems. Microsoft Rewards points can be exchanged for an eligible gift card or code, but Microsoft does not transfer VALORANT Points straight to a Riot account. Microsoft’s current Rewards instructions are at Microsoft Rewards support.
A Microsoft or Xbox gift card is not the same thing as a Riot/VALORANT card. Microsoft and Xbox cards are deposited as Microsoft-account promotional balance; a Riot-compatible card is a separate reward whose code must be redeemed by Riot.

First, check whether your catalog has a Riot-compatible card
- Open the Microsoft Rewards dashboard.
- Select Redeem.
- Open Gift cards.
- Look for a card labeled Riot Games, VALORANT, League of Legends or similar, and read its stated game and region terms.
The U.S. catalog view currently visible without a signed-in personalized account does not list a Riot Games, League of Legends or VALORANT card; it shows offers such as Microsoft/Xbox, Amazon, Roblox, Overwatch Coins and Sea of Thieves. Your signed-in catalog can differ by account, country and stock.
Microsoft has shown a League of Legends card in another market that says it can be used in League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra and VALORANT. That listing shows 6,500 points, but it is not a U.S. price and does not prove that the offer is available in your account. Catalog rates are not universal or permanent.

Redeem the eligible card in Microsoft Rewards
- From the Rewards dashboard, choose Redeem.
- Select Gift cards.
- Choose the eligible Riot-compatible card.
- Select the available card option.
- Select Redeem Rewards.
Microsoft may ask for account or phone verification. For a non-Microsoft branded card, use Order history to find the order, open Order Details, and view the code or redemption link. If necessary, select Resend to send the confirmation email again.

After you have the code, redeem it in one of these official interfaces:

The code is applied by Riot, not by Microsoft Rewards, Bing or the Bing app. Once Riot accepts the code, the resulting currency or content follows the card’s stated terms.
What the Bing or Microsoft Rewards app can—and cannot—do
The Bing or Microsoft Rewards app can be involved in Microsoft account verification, including QR-code verification. It does not apply a VALORANT code to your Riot account. The actual code-entry step must happen in the VALORANT client or on Riot’s redemption page.

Regional, account and verification restrictions
- Redeem only offers displayed for the region where your Microsoft Rewards account was registered. Microsoft says rewards cannot be redeemed while traveling in another market.
- Do not use a VPN or proxy during redemption; Microsoft prohibits them.
- Offers can disappear, remain unavailable or return later. Microsoft does not publish restock or removal dates.
- For phone verification, use a mobile phone or landline. VoIP numbers are not accepted.
- A phone number can be associated with up to six Microsoft Rewards accounts per household.
- After too many failed phone-verification attempts, Microsoft requires a 48-hour wait before another attempt.

Microsoft Rewards points expire after 12 months of account inactivity, defined as not earning or redeeming anything during that period. Microsoft’s explanation of current redemption behavior and direct deposits is in Learn about Microsoft Rewards.
Common problems and the correct fix
No VALORANT or Riot card appears
This usually means the offer is not available for your region, account or current stock. Check the signed-in Redeem → Gift cards catalog later; do not substitute a Microsoft/Xbox card and expect it to become VALORANT Points.
You received a code but it does not work
Confirm that the card explicitly supports VALORANT in your region, copy the code exactly, and enter it through the VALORANT client or Riot’s redemption page. Microsoft Rewards cannot fix a Riot-side code error.
You cannot complete phone verification
Use an eligible mobile or landline number rather than VoIP. If you have reached the failed-attempt limit, wait 48 hours before trying again.
You are looking for the order email
Open Microsoft Rewards → Order history → Order Details. Microsoft says Resend can send the confirmation again, while Order Details displays the code or redemption link.
