In Pokémon LeafGreen, you can catch Vulpix in the grass on Routes 7 and 8 or in the Pokémon Mansion. In Pokémon FireRed, Vulpix is listed as obtainable by trading or migrating it from another game, not as a wild encounter.

Where to find Vulpix in LeafGreen

Search the grass on Route 7 or Route 8, or look for it in the Pokémon Mansion. Pokémon Database lists all three areas as Vulpix locations in LeafGreen: Vulpix Pokédex: stats, moves, evolution & locations.

The cited location listing does not give Vulpix’s encounter level, encounter rate, or a specific Mansion floor, so there is not enough information here to say which spot is fastest or easiest.

How to get Vulpix in FireRed

The listed FireRed availability is trade or migration from another game; Vulpix is not listed as a wild encounter in FireRed. Arrange a compatible trade or transfer rather than searching Routes 7 or 8 or the Pokémon Mansion in FireRed. The cited references do not specify the hardware or steps needed for a particular transfer setup.

Why the versions differ

Vulpix and its evolution Ninetales are listed as LeafGreen exclusives. FireRed has the Growlithe line instead; Pokémon Database explains that species absent from one version must be obtained by trading: Pokémon exclusive to FireRed or LeafGreen.

That means a LeafGreen player can catch Vulpix directly, while a FireRed player needs access to another game that can supply it through a compatible trade or migration.
