In Dicevaders, improve your control over dice by spending Chrono to reroll or Budges to nudge a die toward the value you need. Then judge the result by whether it completes a useful combination and supports your board—not simply by whether it shows a high number. Neither tool is documented as guaranteeing a particular roll.
Choose between a reroll and a nudge
Chrono and Budge give you different ways to respond to a roll. The official Steam description says Chrono can reroll dice and restock the shop; the Dicevaders Team’s launch announcement describes Budges as a way to nudge dice where you need them.
- Use Chrono to try for a different result. A reroll can make sense when the current face does not fit your plan and another result could complete a valuable pattern. But Chrono also has a shop use, so consider whether refreshing the shop could help your run more.
- Use Budge when a targeted adjustment is more useful. It is described as a nudge rather than a full reroll, making it the more focused option when you want to move a die toward a needed value. The public descriptions do not specify how many faces it can move or its cost.
The official descriptions do not provide exact resource costs or timing rules. Check the current in-game Strategy Guide or item text for those details before committing resources.
Look for combinations before chasing a high face
The Steam description says pairs, triples, and quadruples can ignite combos. Before changing a die, inspect the row and ask what result would complete a pattern that benefits your current run. A lower face that finishes a useful combination may be a better outcome than a high face that does not connect with anything.

- Check the dice already showing and identify a pair, triple, or quadruple you could complete.
- Compare the possible completion with the units and effects you have in play.
- Use a reroll if a different result could help more than the current one; use a Budge if a targeted nudge better fits the plan.
Connect dice decisions to your board and shop
Roll control is only one part of a turn. The official listing describes acquiring units, artifacts, Budges, and Chrono, and says strategic placement can enhance scoring potential. Consider how a die result works with your board layout and unit effects before spending a control resource. If a Chrono reroll is competing with a shop restock, weigh the chance of improving the dice against the value of new options for your build.
What the published details do—and do not—establish
The Dicevaders Team’s launch announcement lists 10 Commanders, 60+ Units, and 120 Artifacts. Those figures describe the breadth of game content, not a roll’s odds or how much Chrono or Budge improves them. The official descriptions do not publish roll probabilities, success rates, or a percentage improvement for either tool, so there is no supported basis for claiming that a particular approach makes a specific result more likely.

Because the public overview does not detail individual Commander, unit, or artifact effects, avoid relying on a generic build ranking for roll control. Use the current in-game Strategy Guide and the exact text on items in your run to see how your own setup changes the value of a result.
