A regular Bottle Cap trains one stat you choose; a Gold Bottle Cap trains all six. Finish the game to unlock Judge, check which IV ratings need improvement, then spend your caps on the relevant Pokémon.
How to use Hyper Training
- Finish the game. The Judge feature unlocks after completing the game. It displays IV ratings in a Pokémon’s summary.
- Check the Pokémon’s ratings. Use Judge to identify which stats are not already at their best rating, so you can avoid spending caps on stats that do not need training.
- Visit the Justice Dojo. The game-specific guide identifies the Dojo as the place to access Hyper Training.
- Choose a cap and stat. Use a regular Bottle Cap to train one selected stat. A Gold Bottle Cap trains all six stats at once.
The guide does not establish a Pokémon-level requirement for Hyper Training or specify the exact menu-button sequence. It also does not establish whether Hyper Training changes underlying IVs for breeding or transfer purposes in this game.
Where to get Bottle Caps
Game8 lists Bottle Caps among the rewards from Mable’s Research: 10 regular Bottle Caps at level 36 and 3 Gold Bottle Caps at level 48. It also names Infinite Z-A Royale rewards as another route. These are reported reward sources, not a confirmed exhaustive list; check the current game’s reward details. Game8’s Hyper Training guide was reported updated October 18, 2025.
Check Alpha Pokémon before spending
According to Game8, Alpha Pokémon have at least three perfect IVs. Check their Judge ratings before using caps, since some stats may already be at their best rating.

IVs are not the same as other training
IVs are the stat-quality ratings Judge shows in a Pokémon’s summary. Hyper Training uses Bottle Caps to improve those ratings. This is separate from effort-value (EV) training; the available game-specific information here does not establish further details about how EV training works in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
The official Pokémon Legends: Z-A adventure guide discusses preparing a team for the Z-A Royale, but the specific cap and Hyper Training details above are reported by Game8.
