To install a Batman: Arkham Knight PC mod, first identify its type and follow the instructions on that mod’s page. File-based mods, texture replacements and BmSDK script mods use different tools and destinations; there is no single installation method that works for all of them.
Before installing: identify the mod type
Check the mod’s description, files and requirements before downloading. The current Arkham Knight Nexus catalog includes visual, gameplay, character and utility mods, and some listings require BmSDK. The steps below describe three documented approaches, not official Rocksteady support or universal rules for every mod.
- File-based DLC mod: the mod supplies files to place in a game directory specified by its author.
- Texture replacement: the mod may require a separate tool such as Resorep.
- Script mod: the mod may require the community framework BmSDK-AK.
Choose the installation route that matches the mod

Install a file-based DLC mod
- Read the mod page and note its required game version, dependencies, destination and any conflicting files.
- Download and extract the archive. Inspect its folder structure before copying anything; do not merge folders or overwrite files based only on a folder name.
- Copy the files to the destination specified by that mod’s author. The community tool ArkhamModDownloader documents
DLC356474as its configured Arkham Knight target and says it moves detected UPK conflicts and optional files to a separate folder. That describes the tool’s behavior, not a rule for all mods. - Keep an untouched copy of any files you replace, then launch the game and check that the mod works before adding another.
Install a Resorep texture mod
Requirements vary by mod. The cited Arkham Knight texture overhaul calls for Resorep, instructs users to set Texture Resolution to High and says to place its downloaded textures in Resorep’s modded folder. Treat those directions as specific to that mod: check its current page and Resorep’s instructions, since the cited example does not establish compatibility with every current setup or every texture replacement.
Install BmSDK and a script mod
BmSDK-AK is a community C# scripting framework. Its project repository describes installation either with an installer or manually. For the manual route, download a release archive and copy its Binaries and BmGame folders into the game directory; place scripts in BmGameScripts. The repository’s current notice says only Steam copies are supported, so do not assume Epic or GOG compatibility.

The BmSDK first-mod guide describes loose .cs scripts and game package files under BmGameCookedPCConsole. Follow the specific script mod’s own requirements as well as the framework guide. BmSDK warns: “Keep in mind that script mods can potentially harm your computer.” Download scripts only from sources you trust.
Keep mods manageable and recover cleanly
Record what each mod changes
Keep the downloaded archive and source page, and note the mod version, installation date, dependencies and files or folders it changes. This gives you a record of what to remove if a problem appears.

Back up before overwriting files
Save clean copies of any original files or directories before replacing them. To undo a manual installation, restore those originals or remove only the files the mod added. A mod’s author may provide different removal steps, so use those when available.
Add one mod at a time
Launch the game after each installation and keep a note of the change. If an issue begins after adding a mod, first remove or restore that mod’s files. The cited sources do not provide controlled compatibility or performance tests, so this is a practical way to isolate a change, not a guaranteed fix.

Use file verification cautiously
A listing in the Nexus catalog recommends verifying game files when existing mods may interfere with a new one. Verification can restore changed game files and may remove manually installed modifications. Back up your changes first, and check the verification instructions for your platform; the listing does not establish the exact behavior on every storefront.
Why Mod Organizer 2 is not a confirmed shortcut
Mod Organizer 2 documentation says programs must be launched through MO2 for its virtual file system to apply, but the cited executable documentation does not establish that Arkham Knight is supported. Do not assume MO2 manages this game’s mods correctly without game-specific confirmation.

Common installation mistakes to avoid
- Using
DLC356474for every file-based mod rather than checking the author’s destination. - Installing a texture mod without its stated tool or settings, or assuming one Resorep workflow applies to every texture mod.
- Putting a BmSDK script outside
BmGameScriptsor assuming the framework supports a non-Steam copy. - Overwriting original files without keeping a backup.
- Installing several mods at once, which makes it harder to identify the source of a problem.
These are community workflows and requirements can change. Check the individual mod page and framework release notes before installing; the official PC manual covers game operation, not community mod installation.
