You can install Fortnite on Android through the Epic Games Store app, or through Google Play in the United States. If you would rather not install the game itself, Epic also lists GeForce NOW as a cloud option: install the GeForce NOW app and stream Fortnite on a supported device. None of these routes works on every Android phone; check the game’s current requirements and device compatibility.
How do I install Fortnite on Android?
Choose a route based on your location and whether you want Fortnite installed on your phone or streamed from the cloud.

How do I install Fortnite from the Epic Games Store on my phone?
- Open Epic’s official Android store page in your phone’s browser.
- Download and install the Epic Games Store app by following Epic’s instructions.
- If Android prompts you to allow installs from that source, open the Settings prompt and grant permission to continue. The wording and location of this setting can vary by Android device.
- Open the Epic Games Store app, find Fortnite, and install it.
- Launch Fortnite and sign in with the Epic account you use for your progress.
Use Epic’s official download page rather than an unofficial APK site. Epic’s Android installation instructions describe this flow and warn that Android may require permission to install apps from the selected source.
Can I download Fortnite from Google Play?
Epic’s dedicated Android support article lists Google Play as an installation option in the United States. Search for Fortnite in the Play Store and install it if the official listing is available for your device. If the listing does not appear or installation is blocked, the phone may not be supported; check Epic’s current guidance rather than assuming the game is available for every Android model.

Will Fortnite run on my Android device?
The Epic Games Store app and Fortnite have separate requirements. Epic lists Android 8 (SDK 26) or later as the minimum for the store app, recommends Android 14 (SDK 34) or later, and says the app needs around 25 MB. Epic also cautions that games can require more than the store app itself.
Fortnite’s Android product listing displays Android 10 or later and a 240.2 MB download for version 33.00.0-38504598-Android. Those details belong to that displayed version; they are not a permanent file size or a guarantee that every phone meeting the listed OS minimum can run the game. Check the current listing and Epic’s Android store requirements before downloading. Epic’s installation help also points to device compatibility guidance if you encounter an incompatibility message.

Can I play Fortnite on Android without downloading it?
Yes. Epic lists GeForce NOW as a cloud service for Fortnite that does not require a local Fortnite download. You install the GeForce NOW Android app from Google Play, then stream the game through the service. NVIDIA’s Fortnite mobile instructions cover Android setup and account linking. This is cloud play, not an installation of Fortnite for Android.

- Open the app and sign in or complete its setup.
- Link your Epic account in GeForce NOW settings if you want single sign-on for Fortnite.
- Start Fortnite from GeForce NOW and sign in with the Epic account that holds your progress if prompted.
Epic also lists Xbox Cloud Gaming and Amazon Luna as cloud options that do not require a Fortnite download. The setup, eligibility, and availability details depend on each service; check its current official information for your location before choosing it.
Does Fortnite on GeForce NOW work with touch controls?
NVIDIA says supported Android devices get on-screen touch controls for Fortnite in GeForce NOW. A controller is not required for those devices. NVIDIA also supports Bluetooth gamepads, so you can use a compatible Bluetooth game controller for an Android phone if you prefer physical controls; check that it works with your device.

Why can’t I find Fortnite in Google Play?
- Location: Epic’s dedicated Android instructions specify Google Play availability in the United States. The Epic Games Store app is Epic’s other direct Android route, subject to local legal restrictions.
- Device compatibility: The Play listing may not be offered for a phone Epic does not support. Check Epic’s current requirements and compatibility guidance.
- Different installation route: If Google Play is not an option where you are, visit Epic’s official Android page and follow its installer steps, provided the route is available and your device meets the requirements.
- Want to avoid a local game install: Use GeForce NOW if it is available to you and your Android device is supported; Fortnite is streamed through the service.
Will my Fortnite progress carry over?
Epic says signed-in players can progress across platforms. Use the same Epic account that holds your Fortnite progress, whether you install through Epic or Google Play. For GeForce NOW, NVIDIA provides Epic account linking in the app’s settings.
