Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →If your Gyre stream is already live, a power cut at home should not stop the broadcast: Gyre says it runs the stream from its cloud infrastructure, not from your computer, and continues even if your internet connection drops. You do not need to keep your laptop or desktop powered for that stream. A router UPS is only useful if you need local internet access to monitor or manage things—and it cannot keep your ISP’s network running if that also loses power.
What happens to a live Gyre stream when the power goes out?
According to Gyre, once its cloud-hosted broadcast is running, it continues independently of your home computer and connection. Gyre describes its streams as continuing when the laptop is off, the browser is closed, or the creator’s internet connection drops. This is a vendor claim, not an independently verified uptime guarantee; no independent Gyre uptime SLA is established here.
A power cut may still prevent you from opening YouTube Studio or Gyre’s dashboard, checking the stream, or making changes until your local power and connection return. The key distinction is that losing access from home is not the same as stopping the stream sent from Gyre’s cloud.
What to do before and during an outage
Before the power cut
- Upload the prerecorded video files you plan to use to Gyre’s storage.
- Build a playlist and connect your YouTube channel through Gyre.
- Start or schedule the broadcast, then confirm that it is live on YouTube before relying on it to run unattended.
Once the stream is live
- You can switch off your local computer; Gyre says the broadcast continues from its cloud.
- If the power goes out, you do not need to restart the stream merely because your laptop, router, or home internet connection has gone offline.
- When local access returns, check the broadcast in YouTube and Gyre. If it is not live, investigate the stream status and restart or repair it as needed.
Do you need a UPS for Gyre streaming?
Not to keep an already launched Gyre cloud stream running, according to Gyre. A UPS or inverter for your computer is unnecessary for that narrow purpose. Backup power may still matter if you need to operate the dashboard, monitor YouTube Studio, or maintain other work at home.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you want your home network to stay available, identify every powered device needed for your connection: typically the router and modem or optical network terminal (ONT), and possibly a separate Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector. A battery connected only to the router will not help if another required device loses power.
Even if all your local equipment stays on, a UPS cannot guarantee internet service. Whether the ISP’s equipment and upstream network remain available during an electricity cut depends on the provider and location; there is no India-wide assurance established here.

Choosing a router UPS
Before buying a mini UPS for your Wi-Fi router, check its output voltage, current capacity, connector size and polarity against the device label or manufacturer’s specifications. Confirm whether it can also power your ONT or any PoE equipment, and estimate runtime at your actual load rather than assuming a published maximum applies to your setup.
For example, Zebronics lists the EnergiUPS 4K (ZEB-RUPS 2) with 12V output, up to 3A and up to four hours of backup, and describes compatibility with routers, CCTV cameras, modems and set-top boxes. Those are manufacturer specifications and a runtime claim, not independently tested results; they do not establish compatibility with every router, ONT or ISP installation.

Gyre also describes YouTube channel authorization through the YouTube API and manual stream-key setup for advanced configurations. Its September 2026 article says API-created streams’ monetization depends on enabling the relevant third-party monetization default in YouTube Studio. It also reports limits of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key. Because platform limits can change, check current YouTube documentation before planning multiple concurrent broadcasts.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. If you use a local encoder instead
A locally encoded RTMP broadcast depends on power at your site: the encoder and every required network device must remain on, and your internet connection must be available. A UPS or inverter can protect that local equipment for its available runtime, but it cannot by itself prevent an ISP-side interruption.

YouTube’s guidance for a primary and backup encoder is to test failover ahead of time: stop the primary encoder or unplug its Ethernet cable, then confirm that the player switches to the backup. This redundancy advice applies to a local encoder setup; it is not a requirement to run a backup encoder at home when the broadcast is already being sent from Gyre’s cloud.
