To loop a pre-recorded video on YouTube Live over JioFiber, run OBS Studio on a computer connected to the JioFiber gateway, add the video as a looping Media Source, and send it to YouTube using the stream URL and private stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. A wired connection and a bitrate that fits your measured upload speed can make the setup more predictable, but they cannot guarantee an uninterrupted broadcast: your computer, power, home network, JioFiber connection, or YouTube ingest can still fail.

What you need before you start

  • A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, according to YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
  • A computer that can run OBS Studio and play the video while encoding the outgoing stream.
  • The video file you want to broadcast, with the rights and permissions needed to stream it.
  • A JioFiber connection whose measured upload capacity can sustain the stream bitrate, with extra capacity left for network variation and other household use.
  • A stream URL and private stream key created in YouTube Live Control Room.

OBS Media Source can loop a local video file. The loop applies to the media source; it does not keep the computer, router, internet connection, or YouTube ingest running after a failure.

Set up a looping YouTube Live stream in OBS

1. Enable YouTube Live and create an encoder stream

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Enable live streaming for the channel if it has not been enabled before; first-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
  2. Create or schedule a stream that uses streaming software (an encoder). In the stream settings, note the YouTube stream URL and copy the stream key. Keep the key private: anyone who gets it may be able to send a feed to your channel. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room.

YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery. Follow the current ingest details shown in Live Control Room rather than relying on a URL copied from an old setup.

2. Add the video and enable looping

  1. Open OBS Studio and create or select a scene for the broadcast.
  2. In the Sources panel, select + and add a Media Source.
  3. Choose the local video file, then enable Loop in the source properties so OBS starts the file again after it finishes.
  4. Check that the video and audio appear and play correctly in the OBS preview. If you are making a playlist rather than repeating one file, OBS’s VLC Video source offers a Loop Playlist option and requires VLC to be installed.

3. Choose output settings the connection can sustain

Set the resolution, frame rate, and bitrate in OBS to values your computer can encode reliably and your actual JioFiber upload can carry. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and testing with realistic audio and movement. Use the guidance for the resolution and frame rate you select; higher-quality settings need more upload capacity and encoding headroom.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Measure upload performance under conditions similar to the planned broadcast. YouTube recommends about 20% upload headroom above the total stream bitrate. That margin matters because other devices and household activity share the connection, and actual connectivity can vary. A plan name or advertised speed alone cannot establish whether your particular connection will sustain a chosen OBS bitrate.

4. Connect OBS to YouTube

  1. In OBS, open Settings and select Stream.
  2. Select YouTube as the service, or use the custom ingest option if needed, then enter the stream URL and private stream key from Live Control Room.
  3. Save the settings. When ready, start streaming in OBS and confirm that the incoming feed appears in YouTube Live Control Room before making it public or relying on it.

Never post the stream key in a public chat, screenshot, or video. It functions like a password for sending a live feed.

5. Prefer Ethernet when practical

If the computer is close enough, connect it by Ethernet to a LAN port on the JioFiber home gateway. Jio’s gateway instructions describe connecting a device through a LAN port. A wired local link avoids some Wi-Fi variability, but it cannot fix an outage, a problem beyond the gateway, or a power failure.

Test and monitor the complete setup

Before leaving a loop unattended, test the same computer, OBS scene, JioFiber connection, stream settings, and YouTube destination you intend to use. YouTube recommends setting up an encoder at least two hours before an event and starting at least 15 minutes beforehand. Use Live Control Room’s preview and stream health indicators, check the OBS dropped-frame statistics, and listen and watch for audio or video problems.

  • If available for your configuration, test YouTube’s failover feature rather than assuming it will behave as needed.
  • If a local recording matters, verify that the archive file is being created and growing.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. This is an archive threshold, not a promise that a stream can run indefinitely. For a longer broadcast, check current Live Control Room guidance and plan how you will handle the archive.

Why a JioFiber YouTube stream can disconnect

OBS describes dropped frames as a sign that the connection to the remote ingest server is unstable or cannot keep up with the configured bitrate. Potential causes include the modem or router, Ethernet cable, network card, another device using the network, or conditions on the ISP path. A looping source only repeats the file; it does not restart the encoder or restore the network after an interruption.

Symptom Possible cause What to check or try
OBS reports dropped frames or YouTube stream health degrades Configured bitrate exceeds available upload capacity, or the route to YouTube ingest is unstable Check current upload use and other household traffic. If capacity is insufficient, lower the bitrate and retest. Compare wired and Wi-Fi behavior if practical.
Stream fails only during busy periods at home Other devices or activities are sharing upload capacity Pause or reschedule heavy uploads and test again. Keep the recommended upload headroom rather than setting bitrate at the measured maximum.
Intermittent failures despite a suitable bitrate Possible local cable, gateway, network adapter, or ISP-path issue Inspect connections and test suspect local equipment where possible. If the problem persists, contact Jio support; changing bitrate or rebooting equipment is not a guaranteed fix.
YouTube receives no feed OBS is not streaming, or the stream URL/key or destination settings are wrong Check OBS’s streaming status and compare the destination and key with Live Control Room. If the key may have been exposed, reset it and update OBS.
The file repeats, but the broadcast has stopped The source is looping while OBS, the computer, power, home network, or upstream connection has failed Restore the failed component and verify the feed in Live Control Room. Test recovery on the actual setup and arrange monitoring or alerts if unattended operation matters.

Choose between a home computer, cloud streaming, and a dedicated encoder

OBS on a home computer gives you direct control over the scene and local files, but the computer and home connection must remain available for the stream to continue. A cloud service shifts video playback and streaming off the home computer; a dedicated encoder is another operating model, with its own setup and power/network requirements. Compare controls, scheduling, monitoring, recovery behavior, and current total cost before choosing. The sources here do not establish current prices or service-level guarantees for the alternatives listed by YouTube.

Approach Computer at home must stay on? Home power and broadband dependency Looping or scheduling Recovery and cost evidence
OBS on a home computer Yes Yes; the computer sends the feed over the home connection OBS Media Source can loop a file; VLC Video source can loop a playlist when VLC is installed Do not assume automatic recovery after a failure; no universal cost figure is established here
StreamNeo cloud service No; it runs from the cloud Home computer and home connection do not have to stay on for the stream Upload videos or build a playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live; supports 24/7 looping and playlists Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream; plan prices and included features are described below
Gyre cloud-based service Not established here Cloud-based; exact home dependency details are not stated here YouTube lists Gyre as a cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded-video service; specific scheduling controls are not established here Current price and recovery guarantees are not established here
