Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minutePC Slower Than It Used to Be?

A master-volume change affects the combined output; it cannot correct a quiet clip relative to a loud one.
Balance clips before setting the overall stream level
Listen to representative loud and quiet sections of every playlist item, including its beginning and end. Pay particular attention to the transition from one clip to the next: a level that sounds reasonable on its own may feel jarring after a much louder or quieter item.
Wirecast supports playlist-based production and audio mixing, but the exact controls and their placement can vary by version. Telestream’s older Wirecast for YouTube guide describes individual Live Audio controls and a Stream Volume master control. Treat that guide as a conceptual explanation, not current click-by-click instructions; confirm the labels and behavior in your installed release.
Adjust the clip or source where possible
If your Wirecast version exposes an audio-level control for the relevant clip or source, use it to bring that item closer to the others. The older guide distinguishes individual source controls from the master Stream Volume control, but current per-clip playlist gain controls and their exact UI steps are not established here.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Prepare files when playlist items cannot be adjusted independently
If several playlist items share a source and you cannot set their levels independently in your installed version, prepare the files before importing them: adjust their relative levels in an audio or video editor, export the corrected files, and then replace the playlist items. This is a practical alternative workflow, not a confirmed Wirecast feature.
Set the master level without masking clip differences
After balancing sources, use the master stream control to set the overall output level. Because a master adjustment moves all stream audio together, raising it to fix a quiet clip also raises the loud clips; lowering it to contain one loud clip also lowers the rest. Make source-level corrections first, then use the master for the combined mix.

Do not rely on matching peak-meter readings alone to make clips sound equally loud. Peak level does not by itself establish perceived program loudness, and no specific loudness target or automatic per-item normalization behavior is established in the sources cited here. Wirecast’s playlist support and mixing capabilities do not mean that playlist clips are automatically loudness-normalized.
Test transitions in YouTube before going live
- Make a test stream. When possible, use a private or unlisted YouTube stream so you can inspect the output without making the test public.
- Open Live Control Room. Check YouTube’s preview while the stream is running and listen to clip changes, not just a single section.
- Adjust the right control. If one clip is noticeably louder or quieter, correct that clip or source where possible. Change the master only when the whole mix needs to move.
- Listen again after each adjustment. Recheck both sides of the transition so a fix for one item does not create a new mismatch elsewhere.
YouTube’s official guidance is to preview the stream and “Continuously monitor streams for audio and video quality.” See YouTube Help: Create a live stream with an encoder.

Monitor the live stream and meters
Keep listening during the event, especially at playlist boundaries. If a level changes unexpectedly, make small adjustments and confirm their effect in the output; a meter alone cannot tell you whether the transition sounds balanced to listeners.
Telestream’s Wirecast version history says its meters use a consistent dBFS scale and that levels turn yellow at -6 dB and red above -1 dB. Those thresholds are from a version-history entry whose publication date is not established here, so verify meter behavior in your installed release rather than treating the values as universal current-version limits. See Telestream Wirecast version history.
