Schedule each live stream as a separate event in YouTube Studio, then check which playlists include each scheduled stream. If you choose Reuse settings for the second event, inspect its details before saving: YouTube says that option copies the previous stream’s metadata, settings, and stream key, but its help page does not say whether it copies playlist membership.
Schedule the two streams as separate events
- In YouTube Studio, open Create > Go live > Manage, then select Schedule stream.
- Set up and schedule the first stream. Repeat the scheduling flow for the second stream rather than treating the two broadcasts as one event. YouTube offers Create new and Reuse settings in this flow. YouTube’s encoder-stream scheduling instructions describe these options.
Choose whether to reuse the first stream’s settings
Create new
Choose Create new when you want to configure the second event independently instead of carrying forward the first event’s setup.
Reuse settings
YouTube says Reuse settings copies the previous stream’s metadata, settings, and stream key, and that you can edit the new stream after it is created. The cited help page does not identify playlist membership as one of the copied fields. Therefore, do not assume it will either be copied or left alone: inspect the second event and verify its playlist before saving or publishing. See YouTube’s live-stream settings instructions.
Check and correct playlist membership
YouTube playlists are collections of videos. To manage them, open Content > Playlists in YouTube Studio. You can add a video by opening its details, choosing More > Add videos, and selecting the video from search, by URL, or from your library. YouTube documents this workflow in its playlist management instructions for Studio on a computer.

- Open the playlist that should contain the first scheduled stream and confirm that the first event is included.
- Open the playlist intended for the second stream and confirm that it contains the second event.
- If either event appears in the wrong playlist, remove it there and add it to the intended playlist using the playlist controls.
- If the streams must remain separate, check both playlists so that each contains only the intended scheduled stream.
Distinguish a YouTube playlist from an encoder playlist
This workflow concerns YouTube channel playlists: collections of videos managed in Studio. If by “playlist” you mean a media playlist that an encoder uses as the source for a live broadcast, that is a separate configuration. Its controls depend on the encoder, which is not specified here; the YouTube Studio playlist steps above do not change an encoder’s playback queue. YouTube describes playlists as collections of videos in its playlist guidance.
