How to Loop a Wedding Exhibition Replay on YouTube Live in India

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To loop a wedding exhibition replay on YouTube Live, add the cleared video file to an OBS Studio Media Source, turn on Loop, connect OBS to a scheduled YouTube encoder stream, and start the event from YouTube Live Control Room after checking its preview. The video repeats while OBS and the computer remain running. This guide is for a prerecorded replay—not a camera feed—and does not establish which local permissions apply to a particular event in India.

Before you set up the replay

Confirm rights to everything in the recording

Make sure you have permission to stream the recording and all material it contains, including music, performances, and other third-party content. YouTube says live content providers must hold the necessary rights, including music licensing rights. Its live-stream terms describe rights that cover use of the content on Google services worldwide. See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A stream can be interrupted or terminated when such material is detected; even a license may not prevent interruption if the relevant rights holder has not allowlisted your channel. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and resolve rights questions with the relevant rights holders before the event.

The official platform guidance cited here does not specify India-specific permits or music-licensing procedures for a wedding exhibition replay. Check the permissions applicable to your venue, recording, performers, and music with the relevant rights holders and local authorities; do not assume that permission to record automatically covers a public livestream.

Prepare the video and equipment

Keep the replay file accessible on the computer that will run OBS. OBS Media Sources support formats including MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, and WebM. The computer and its internet connection need to stay available while you broadcast: this workflow sends playback from OBS to YouTube through an encoder connection. OBS’s Media Sources guide explains local-file sources and looping.

Loop one video file with OBS and YouTube Live

  1. Add the replay in OBS. Create or select a scene, add a Media Source, and choose the local wedding exhibition video file. In the source’s properties, enable Loop. OBS documents that a Media Source can play a local file and that Loop restarts playback when it reaches the end; the option is off by default.
  2. Check the scene and sound. Confirm the video appears in the OBS preview, then play it and watch the audio meters. Make sure the intended audio is routed to the stream and is audible at a reasonable level. Check the start and end of the file so a blank frame or unintended silence at the loop point will not surprise viewers.
  3. Schedule an encoder stream in YouTube Studio. Open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream using an encoder. Set the title, privacy, and other event details. Scheduling gives you a watch page to share in advance. Follow YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
  4. Copy the event’s connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key from the event’s settings and enter them in OBS’s streaming settings. Treat the key like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send video to your event. YouTube’s live stream settings guide covers managing those settings.
  5. Send a preview, then go live. Start streaming from OBS and wait for the incoming video to appear in Live Control Room. Check the picture and audio there before selecting Go live. YouTube recommends testing and monitoring stream quality; see its computer live-streaming tips.
  6. Keep the loop running for the event. Leave OBS and the computer running while the Media Source repeats the file. If playback ends rather than restarting, reopen the source properties and verify that Loop is enabled.
  7. End the event deliberately. When the exhibition broadcast is finished, end the event in Live Control Room and stop the encoder stream in OBS. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; check the resulting archive after the event if you plan to share it.

Plan for replay, archive, and viewer controls

A looping source repeats the video for people watching the live event; it does not make the live stream an endlessly available recording after you stop broadcasting. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance also warns that DVR rewind may be limited or unavailable on very long streams beyond 12 hours. DVR viewers cannot seek to a point before the live stream began. See YouTube’s DVR guidance.

If your audience needs to rewind during the broadcast, consider whether YouTube’s live DVR behavior suits the event. If viewers need a permanent replay, verify the archive after ending the stream rather than assuming the live player and saved video behave identically.

Common problems and fixes

  • The video plays once and stops: Open the Media Source properties and turn on Loop. OBS documents this control as off by default.
  • YouTube does not show an incoming preview: Confirm OBS is streaming to the URL and key for the correct scheduled event. Check that the stream key was copied accurately and that OBS has started sending.
  • The preview appears, but the video or audio is wrong: Inspect the OBS scene, selected Media Source, playback, and audio meters before going live. YouTube recommends previewing and monitoring the stream before and during the event.
  • The stream is interrupted after it starts: Check whether the replay contains third-party material and whether you have the necessary rights. YouTube’s copyright guidance says detection can interrupt or terminate a stream; a license may not be enough if the rights holder has not allowlisted the channel.
  • The saved replay is missing or viewer rewind is limited: Check whether the stream exceeded 12 hours. YouTube’s stated automatic-archive rule applies to streams under 12 hours, and DVR capabilities may be limited on very long streams.
