To loop a finished YouTube gaming livestream, open its replay and turn on the player’s Loop or Repeat control. The replay must be available on the channel first: YouTube says a channel may post a replay or highlights after a livestream ends, but it is not automatic. YouTube Help explains replay availability.
Loop one finished livestream replay
Find the ended broadcast on the channel and open its replay watch page. The control’s name and location can vary by device and app version.
On a computer
- Open the replay in YouTube.
- Right-click inside the video player.
- Select Loop from the player menu.
On Android
- Open the replay in the YouTube app and tap the video.
- Open the player’s settings.
- Choose Additional settings, then Loop video.
On a TV or gaming console
- Start the replay.
- Use the remote or controller to show the on-screen playback controls.
- Select Repeat, if available. The label or menu location may differ between YouTube apps and device software.
Loop several gaming livestream replays
Put the replay videos in a playlist, start playback from that playlist, and turn on its loop control. On mobile, repeat mode may apply only to the current video rather than the entire playlist. Check the mode indicator; if it repeats one replay instead of moving through the list, switch to playlist repeat.
If you cannot find the replay or loop control
- No replay appears on the channel: the creator may not have posted one. YouTube says a channel may post a replay or highlights after a livestream ends; viewers cannot loop an archive that is not available.
- The loop option is missing: open the player controls and check the device-specific menus. The available controls can differ by platform.
- A playlist repeats the wrong item: check whether repeat is set for the current video or the whole playlist.
Replay looping is different from live DVR
Looping applies to a replay video after the broadcast ends. DVR is for pausing, rewinding, or resuming during an active livestream; it is not the setting for repeating a completed archive. YouTube Help says DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable for livestreams longer than 12 hours. That threshold concerns live DVR, not how long a replay can be looped. YouTube’s Live Streaming API describes a completed broadcast as being converted to a YouTube video with a video ID. Whether viewers can access that video still depends on the channel making the replay available.
