For a sequence of songs, use a VLC Video source with Loop Playlist enabled. These settings repeat the audio or video; they do not keep OBS, your computer, power, or internet connection running, guarantee gapless transitions, or clear music rights.
Choose the right OBS source

In OBS, the Media Source Loop option is off by default. VLC Video’s Loop Playlist option is on by default, so check its setting rather than assuming it is disabled. For a playlist, check the order, shuffle setting, and visibility behavior before going live. OBS: Media Sources
Loop one Marathi song file
- Open OBS and select the scene that will carry the stream.
- In the Sources dock, select + and add Media Source. Give it a recognizable name and confirm.
- In the source properties, select Browse and choose the audio or video file.
- Enable Loop, then confirm the properties.
- Play the source and check the OBS audio meter. If it is a video file, verify the picture is visible in the preview as well.
OBS’s loop setting repeats the selected file. It does not establish that the transition from the end back to the beginning will be gapless; listen to that transition during a rehearsal. OBS: Media Sources
Loop a playlist of Marathi songs
- Install VLC before configuring OBS’s VLC source. Match its architecture to OBS: OBS 64-bit needs VLC 64-bit.
- In the Sources dock, select + and add VLC Video.
- In the source properties, add the local song files to the playlist in the intended order.
- Enable Loop Playlist. Review shuffle and visibility-behavior options so files play and the source behaves as intended.
- Confirm the properties. Play through a track change and the playlist’s end-to-start transition; check the OBS audio meter and preview.
OBS documents Loop Playlist as on by default. A looping playlist does not guarantee seamless transitions between separate recordings. OBS: Media Sources

Connect OBS to YouTube Live
Check channel eligibility and activation
YouTube’s published requirements include a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days and a minimum age of 16. First-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before the planned broadcast. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility help.
Set the encoder stream key
- In YouTube Studio, create or select an encoder stream and open its stream settings.
- Copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube into OBS’s stream settings.
- Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or share it with anyone who should not be able to broadcast to your channel.
- Start streaming from OBS. In YouTube Live Control Room, check that the preview appears and that audio and video are behaving correctly before starting the public broadcast.
YouTube recommends testing the setup, checking the preview, and monitoring audio and video quality. Leave upload-bandwidth headroom rather than relying on a connection that barely meets the stream’s needs. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume that a longer broadcast will be archived. See YouTube’s encoder guide and YouTube’s live-streaming tips.

Clear the music rights before broadcasting
A song being available online or playable in OBS does not mean it is cleared for a live broadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility on the creator to have the necessary rights for worldwide use of live content on Google services, including music rights involving artists, labels, publishers, public performance, and other royalty participants. Whether a specific Marathi recording and composition are cleared depends on the actual rights, license, territory, stream, and any archive. See YouTube’s livestream terms.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match may cause the stream to be replaced with a placeholder and a warning; continued use may lead to temporary interruption or termination. If you have a license, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A licensed track can still be interrupted if the channel is not allowlisted. YouTube Creator Music is not a live-stream clearance option: its help page says catalog tracks can be used in long-form videos, not livestreams or Shorts. The page describes availability for U.S. creators in the YouTube Partner Program and says expansion outside the U.S. is pending. See YouTube Creator Music help.
Keep an OBS-based broadcast running
Looping controls playback only. If OBS closes, the computer loses power, or the network fails, the broadcast can stop even while the file or playlist is configured to repeat. For a long stream, test the complete setup, monitor Live Control Room, and plan how you will respond if the encoder or connection stops.
