If you want viewers to see those videos in a live broadcast, set up a YouTube Live stream and send the videos through an encoder; the playlist Loop control does not control a broadcast. The exact repeat setting depends on the encoder or playback software you choose.
Choose between looping a playlist and broadcasting it live

YouTube documents a Loop control for ordinary playlist playback and a separate encoder workflow for live broadcasts. Its general live-streaming instructions do not establish a particular encoder’s playlist-repeat controls, so use the current documentation for the application you choose rather than assuming the YouTube player’s Loop control will repeat the broadcast source. Loop a playlist for your own viewing
- Open a video from the playlist on YouTube.
- Expand the playlist box beside or below the video.
- Select the playlist’s Loop control. YouTube says this repeats the playlist continuously.
On TVs and consoles, YouTube also provides a playlist repeat control. Mobile playback controls vary by platform; use the controls shown in the YouTube app. These steps repeat playback for you—they do not create a public live stream. YouTube’s playlist-loop instructions
Broadcast nature videos as a YouTube Live stream
1. Confirm that the channel can go live
YouTube’s getting-started guidance says a channel must be verified and have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. YouTube also states that users must be at least 16 to livestream. Check the channel’s eligibility in YouTube Studio before preparing a long program. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming

2. Prepare the source and clear the rights
Gather the nature videos you intend to play and decide which encoder or playback application will feed them into the broadcast. The application determines how to arrange and repeat local files; YouTube’s general encoder guidance does not specify those controls. Consult the application’s current instructions for creating a playlist, setting it to repeat, and ensuring playback continues between clips.
Only use video and audio you have permission to stream. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including copyrighted material present in another live broadcast. A detected match may cause a warning or placeholder image; if the material remains, the stream can be interrupted or terminated. YouTube says that even licensed third-party content may be interrupted unless the rights owner has added the channel to its Content ID allowlist. 3. Create the live stream and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream.
- In the Live Control Room, retrieve the stream URL and stream key.
- In your encoder, choose YouTube if it offers that connection option. Otherwise, enter the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio.
- Load the nature-video playlist into the encoder or playback source and configure its repeat behavior there, following that application’s current documentation.
- Start the encoder’s feed, then check the Live Control Room preview before starting the public broadcast.
The stream key is a credential that lets the encoder send video to your channel. Do not share it. If you believe it has been exposed, use YouTube’s reset option and update the encoder with the replacement key. 4. Test and monitor the broadcast
Before relying on a long ambient stream, try a short test set to public or unlisted, check the Live Control Room preview, and monitor audio and video while it runs. YouTube recommends checking the preview before starting and continuously monitoring stream quality. A silent or frozen source can defeat the purpose of a calming nature-video channel even when the live connection itself is active. 5. End the stream and protect the archive
To end an encoder stream, stop sending content from the encoder. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. DVR rewind may also be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours. If you need a dependable copy, make and retain a local recording rather than relying only on YouTube’s archive. Common problems and fixes
- The playlist repeats on your screen, but there is no live broadcast. The YouTube Loop control is for ordinary playback. Create a live stream in YouTube Studio and send the source through an encoder.
- The broadcast ends after one pass through the videos. Repeat behavior belongs to the encoder or playback source, not YouTube’s playlist player. Check that application’s repeat setting and current instructions.
- The encoder does not connect. Confirm it is using the current stream URL and key from the intended Live Control Room stream. If the key was reset, replace the old key in the encoder.
- The preview shows a warning, placeholder, or interruption. Review the video and audio for third-party material. Confirm you have streaming rights and, where applicable, that the rights owner has allowlisted the channel through Content ID.
- The stream is missing from archives or viewers cannot rewind far enough. YouTube’s archive and DVR behavior has limitations for streams longer than 12 hours. Keep a local recording and plan the stream duration with those limits in mind.
