Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →To loop one prerecorded product demo on YouTube Live, add it to OBS as a Media Source, enable Loop, then send OBS’s output to YouTube using your stream URL and key. For several clips, use OBS’s VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. The repetition must happen in OBS before YouTube receives the feed; YouTube’s player-side Loop command only repeats playback for viewers watching a YouTube video or playlist.
Choose the OBS source that fits your demo
| Need | OBS source | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Repeat one demo file | Media Source | Built into OBS. Select the local file and enable Loop; OBS restarts it after playback completes. |
| Repeat several demo clips in sequence | VLC Video | Requires VLC installed. Add the files to its playlist and enable Loop Playlist. Shuffle Playlist is off by default, so clips stay in their listed order unless you change it. |
OBS documents supported Media Source formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF and WebM. See the OBS Media Sources documentation for source properties and details. If you use 64-bit OBS, install the 64-bit VLC build for the VLC Video source.
Prepare the files and rights
- Decide whether the broadcast should repeat one file or cycle through an ordered set of clips. For a playlist, arrange the files in the order you want viewers to see them.
- Check the picture, crop, and audio in advance. Confirm that product footage, music, graphics, and claims are cleared for the live stream; rights depend on your material and permissions.
- Use representative motion and audio when testing. A static menu or silent opening screen may not reveal issues that appear during the actual demo.
Loop one product demo in OBS
- Create or open a scene. In OBS, select an existing scene or create one for the product demo.
- Add the file. In the Sources panel, choose + → Media Source. Create a new source, select the local video file, and confirm.
- Enable looping. Open the Media Source properties and turn on Loop. This setting makes the file start again when playback completes.
- Check scene appearance. Fit or crop the source as needed so the product footage fills the intended frame. Verify that the correct audio is routed and audible in the OBS mixer.
- Check scene-switch behavior. OBS documents Restart playback when source becomes active as on by default. This can matter if you switch away from the scene and return; check the setting if you need playback to resume rather than restart.
Loop a playlist of demo clips
- Install VLC, then in OBS choose + in Sources → VLC Video. If the source type does not appear, check that VLC is installed and that its build matches your OBS architecture.
- Add the video files to the VLC Video source’s playlist in the intended order.
- Leave Loop Playlist enabled to repeat the playlist. OBS documentation lists it as on by default.
- Keep Shuffle Playlist off if the demos must play in a fixed sequence; OBS lists shuffle as off by default.
- Preview the transitions and audio between clips. Confirm that the playlist’s looping behavior and scene visibility match the broadcast you intend to run.
For source-specific details, consult the OBS Media Sources documentation.
Connect OBS to YouTube Live
- In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create a stream or select the one you plan to use. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe the workflow.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into OBS’s stream settings, or choose YouTube in OBS if that integration is available to you.
- Treat the key as a secret. YouTube says, “Stream keys are like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Do not show it in a screen capture, tutorial, or public stream-settings screenshot. See YouTube’s stream settings help.
- Check that your channel is verified and has no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days, as required by YouTube’s encoder guidance.
Set video and network quality
YouTube recommends RTMPS. Its current encoder guidance supports H.264, H.265, or AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS, constant bitrate (CBR), frame rates up to 60 fps, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval that should not exceed four seconds. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a bitrate for your selected codec, resolution, and frame rate rather than treating one number as universal. For example, YouTube lists H.264 at 1080p30 as 5 Mbps minimum and 14 Mbps recommended. Leave upload capacity headroom: YouTube’s streaming tips recommend 20%.
- Match OBS output settings to the quality you intend to deliver and to your stable upload capacity.
- Use CBR and a two-second keyframe interval as YouTube’s recommended starting point; keep the interval at or below four seconds.
- Test with the same kind of movement and audio as the real demo, then adjust if the preview or stream health indicates a problem.
Preflight, go live, and end the stream
- Set up well ahead of the event. YouTube’s live-streaming tips suggest preparing at least two hours ahead and starting the encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled event.
- Start the OBS encoder and inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting the public broadcast. Check the loop, transitions, framing, audio, and stream health.
- During the broadcast, monitor audio/video quality and stream health rather than assuming a successful preview guarantees an uninterrupted session.
- When finished, stop the stream in YouTube, then stop the encoder in OBS. YouTube says encoder streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; check current stream behavior and archive settings if planning a longer broadcast.
See YouTube’s live streaming tips and encoder setup help for the current platform guidance.

OBS looping troubleshooting
- The video plays once and stops: Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. For several files, check Loop Playlist in the VLC Video source.
- VLC Video is missing: Install VLC. If you use 64-bit OBS, use the 64-bit VLC build.
- The playlist order changes: Turn off Shuffle Playlist and review the file order in the source playlist.
- The clip restarts after returning to its scene: Check Restart playback when source becomes active; OBS documents it as enabled by default.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Recheck the stream URL and key in OBS, confirm that the stream is selected in YouTube Studio, and inspect the Live Control Room status and preview.
- Video stutters or stream health is poor: Check whether your upload capacity can sustain the chosen settings with headroom, then test a lower suitable bitrate or output quality. YouTube’s recommended 20% upload headroom is a planning guideline, not a guarantee for an unstable connection.
- Viewers see a video that does not repeat: Confirm that the OBS source itself is looping. The YouTube player’s Loop command affects a viewer’s playback of a YouTube video or playlist, not the local file being sent as a live encoder feed.
Copyright and YouTube policy checks
Looping a file does not establish that you have the rights to its contents or that a stream meets YouTube’s rules. Before broadcasting, verify permissions for music, footage, artwork, and other third-party material, and ensure product claims are accurate. YouTube’s encoder and live settings documentation explains the platform workflow, but cannot determine whether a particular creator has permission to use a particular asset. Viewer playback controls and DVR behavior are separate from the OBS loop setting; see YouTube’s instructions for looping videos or playlists.

If you want an uploaded product demo to keep looping on YouTube without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo runs the stream from the cloud. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera, and YouTube is its streaming destination.
