How to Loop Real Estate Walkthrough Videos on YouTube Live

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To loop a prerecorded real estate walkthrough during a YouTube Live broadcast, play the video through an encoder such as OBS Studio and enable Loop on its Media Source. YouTube’s watch-page Loop repeats playback for an individual viewer; it does not make a prerecorded video into a live broadcast.

Loop one walkthrough file in OBS

  1. Prepare the footage. Use a local video file in a format OBS supports, such as MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, or WebM. Watch the ending and beginning together: an abrupt cut, silent gap, or mismatched audio can become distracting every time the file repeats.
  2. Add it to a scene. In OBS, create or select a scene, then use Sources → + → Media Source. Choose the local video file. In the source properties, enable Loop, then confirm the source.
  3. Check the frame and sound. In the preview, fit the source to the scene and check that the property fills the intended frame without cropping important details. Listen to the audio and observe the transition from the end of the video back to the beginning.

OBS documents the Media Source Loop property as the setting that makes a file play again after playback completes. Supported formats include MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM. See the OBS Media Sources documentation.

Loop several property tours as a playlist

If the broadcast should rotate through multiple walkthroughs, use OBS’s VLC Video source rather than adding and looping each file separately. Install VLC first; OBS requires it for this source type. Add the videos in the order you want them played and enable Loop Playlist in the source properties. Preview the handoff between files and confirm the playlist order before going live.

A single Media Source is the simpler choice for one repeating file. A VLC Video playlist suits an ordered rotation of several files; its availability depends on VLC being installed. OBS documents both source types and their looping controls on its Media Sources page.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.

Connect OBS to a YouTube Live event

  1. Confirm channel eligibility. YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and the streamer must be at least 16. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming help.
  2. Create or open the event. In YouTube Studio, open the Live Control Room and create or manage the stream. Find the stream URL and stream key in the event’s stream settings.
  3. Enter the connection details in OBS. In OBS, open Settings → Stream, choose YouTube as the service, and enter or select the stream key as prompted. Use YouTube RTMPS when available. YouTube recommends RTMPS, a secure extension of RTMP; its encoder setup guidance is at Set up your encoder for live streaming.
  4. Protect the stream key. Treat it like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your event. Do not include it in a public screenshot, recording, or message.

YouTube supports mobile, webcam, and encoder ways to go live. An encoder is the appropriate option for an OBS scene containing a prerecorded walkthrough, because it sends the composed scene—including the looping file—to the event.

Test before making the broadcast public

  • Start the encoder and wait for the event preview in YouTube’s Live Control Room.
  • Check that the image fills the intended frame and that important room details are visible.
  • Listen for the expected audio level, unwanted noise, or a gap at the loop point.
  • Confirm that the feed continues after the video reaches its end and starts again.
  • Check YouTube’s stream health and test the watch page on a phone as well as on the device used to monitor the broadcast.
  • Leave upload-bandwidth headroom. YouTube’s streaming tips recommend roughly 20% beyond the total bitrate. See YouTube’s live-streaming tips.

When the preview looks and sounds right, start the event in the Live Control Room as required by its chosen event settings. Keep OBS running and monitor both the encoder and YouTube’s stream health while the broadcast is live.

Check footage rights and property privacy

Before broadcasting, confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions for the walkthrough footage and every included audio track. Also consider whether occupants, personal belongings, access details, or other identifying information appear in the video. YouTube requires live content to follow its Community Guidelines and Terms of Service; those platform rules do not determine who has permission to film or broadcast a particular home. Review YouTube’s live-streaming policies and resolve property-specific permissions with the relevant people before going live.

Plan for long broadcasts and replays

YouTube’s DVR feature lets viewers pause and resume a live stream, but rewind may be limited or unavailable for streams longer than 12 hours. YouTube can automatically archive streams under 12 hours and recommends keeping a local archive backup; a stream that exceeds 12 hours may not be captured at all. Do not promise viewers a complete replay or full DVR rewind for an extra-long or continuous broadcast. Details are in YouTube’s live-stream DVR help and archive guidance.

Troubleshoot common loop and live-stream problems

Symptom Likely cause What to check
The video plays once and stops Loop is not enabled on the Media Source, or the wrong source is in the scene. Open the Media Source properties, enable Loop, and confirm the scene uses that source.
A playlist does not appear as a source option VLC may not be installed, which OBS requires for VLC Video. Install VLC, restart OBS if needed, then add a VLC Video source and check Loop Playlist.
YouTube does not receive the feed The stream key or service configuration may be incorrect, or the event may not be ready. Compare OBS’s stream settings with the current stream details in YouTube Studio. Keep the key private.
The stream looks choppy or YouTube reports poor health The outgoing feed may not have enough stable upload bandwidth. Check YouTube’s stream health and reduce competing upload traffic; preserve the recommended upload headroom.
The loop sounds or looks jarring The file’s ending and beginning do not join cleanly, or audio levels differ. Review the transition in OBS before going live and edit or replace the file if necessary.
No complete replay is available afterward The broadcast may have exceeded 12 hours, a duration for which YouTube warns an archive may not be captured. For a replay that matters, keep a local recording backup and avoid relying on a complete archive of an extra-long stream.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you want the prerecorded walkthrough to continue without leaving a computer running at home, StreamNeo runs an always-on YouTube stream from uploaded videos. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; the video streams as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
