To loop several relaxation videos into one YouTube upload, put their filenames in an FFmpeg concat playlist, then use -stream_loop -1 before the playlist input and set the output duration with -t. The concat demuxer works best when every clip has compatible streams, codecs, and time bases; mismatched files may need to be normalized and re-encoded.
Choose between an exported loop and YouTube’s player loop
If you want viewers to play an existing YouTube video or playlist repeatedly, YouTube’s player controls can loop it without creating a new file. Use FFmpeg when you need a single longer video to upload or distribute, or when you need a file with a planned runtime. An export takes processing time and storage, and the source clips must be compatible with the method you choose.
YouTube Help explains how to loop a video or playlist from the player. For a new upload, continue with the FFmpeg steps below.
Make a concat playlist
Create a plain-text file named relaxation.ffconcat in the same folder as the videos. Put each clip on its own line, in playback order:

file 'relaxation-03.mp4'The first line is optional for a plain text list. If you include it for automatic format recognition, it must be the exact first line, with no leading spaces or byte-order mark. Quote or escape paths that contain spaces or special characters. Keep paths easy to inspect, and verify the list with a short render before starting a long encode. The FFmpeg concat demuxer documentation describes this file-list format.
Render a finite looped video
Run this command from the directory containing the playlist and media files:

-t 02:00:00 -c:v libx264 -c:a aac -ar 48000
-movflags +faststart relaxation-loop.mp4-stream_loop -1repeats the input indefinitely. It is an input option, so place it before-i, the input it should repeat. FFmpeg documents0as no looping and-1as infinite looping.-f concatselects the concat demuxer, which reads the playlist and presents its files one after another.-safe 0relaxes path safety checks. Use it only with a playlist you trust, not with untrusted playlist contents.-t 02:00:00stops the output after two hours. Replace that duration with the runtime you need; the infinite input loop does not mean the output file must be infinite.-c:v libx264 -c:a aac -ar 48000encodes H.264 video and AAC audio at a 48 kHz audio sample rate. Check the source and intended output before choosing other encoding settings.-movflags +faststartmoves MP4 metadata toward the start of the file, which can help playback begin before the entire file is downloaded.
This is a command pattern, not a claim that the command has been tested against your files. Option order matters in FFmpeg: options apply to inputs or outputs according to where they appear. See the FFmpeg command-line documentation and confirm behavior with your installed FFmpeg version.
Check compatibility before relying on the concat demuxer
The concat demuxer is not a general-purpose fixer for different media files. FFmpeg expects the files to have the same streams, codecs, and time bases. It uses file durations to set following timestamps, so inaccurate duration metadata or unequal audio and video lengths can lead to gaps or artifacts.

- Check that each clip has the same kinds of streams, such as video plus audio, and compatible codecs and time bases.
- Compare frame size, frame rate, audio sample rate, and channel layout. These are useful checks when diagnosing incompatibility, even where the concat demuxer’s documented requirements are about stream structure, codecs, and time bases.
- If files do not match, decode and re-encode them to a consistent set of streams instead of assuming stream-copy concatenation will work.
FFmpeg’s FAQ describes the concat filter for cases that require re-encoding and distinguishes it from the concat demuxer, which can avoid re-encoding when inputs are suitable. A filter-based workflow requires specifying the inputs and normalizing them consistently; the simple playlist command above should not be treated as a substitute for that work.
Prepare the upload for YouTube
YouTube’s recommended upload guidance lists MP4, H.264 video, AAC-LC or Opus audio, 48 kHz audio, progressive scan, and a frame rate that matches the recorded content. It also provides bitrate recommendations by resolution; choose a rate for the resolution and frame-rate category you actually intend to upload rather than applying one bitrate to every video. The example command selects H.264 and AAC, but it does not specify an output resolution or frame rate. FFmpeg generally derives those from the input streams unless you explicitly set filters or output options. Inspect your sources and test the result before committing to a long render. YouTube converts uploads for playback, and processing time can depend on file properties and traffic; a particular encode setting does not guarantee a processing time or playback quality.
