The trick can save Grace ammunition if the swing connects, but it depends on positioning and timing, so it is not a guaranteed or effortless kill.
Where to use the lure
This tactic applies to Grace’s encounter with Chunk in the Care Center’s East Wing. The nearby blind infected carries an IV dripper stand; the aim is to make its swing hit Chunk rather than spend resources killing him directly.

How to try the blind-infected tactic

When Chunk appears, move him toward the doorway near the blind infected. Keep the two enemies close enough that the IV stand can reach Chunk.

Throw an empty bottle toward the doorway or target area to attract the blind infected. It reacts to sound, and guides describe the bottle as the lure for this encounter.

Watch the infected’s approach and swing. The desired result is for the IV stand to hit Chunk while he is within range. One community guide cautions that the throw may need to happen before Chunk gets stuck at the doorway.

If the swing misses, reposition and try again—or use direct combat instead. Player reports describe the timing and positioning as variable, and no source establishes a universally reliable sequence.

Is it easier than fighting Chunk directly?

The lure is worth attempting if you want to conserve supplies and can afford the extra time or retries. It is not established as categorically easier: combat avoids relying on the blind infected’s positioning, while the lure avoids spending resources only when the hit actually lands.
