To make a Facebook gaming page, create a regular Facebook Page and brand it for gaming. Facebook does not require a separate “Facebook Gaming Page” creation wizard for this purpose. Go to facebook.com/pages/create, choose a suitable name and category, add your bio, then customize the Page with gaming artwork, links, access permissions, and content. You can later use the Page for gaming videos, Reels, posts, and eligible Facebook Live broadcasts.
First, choose the right Facebook destination
“Facebook gaming page” can mean several different things. Choosing the right Facebook entity before you start will prevent access and branding problems later.
| Goal | Best starting point |
|---|---|
| Build a public gaming brand separate from your personal activity | Facebook Page |
| Publish as an individual creator under your personal identity | Personal profile with professional mode may be sufficient |
| Represent an esports team, studio, company, or organization | Facebook Page |
| Run member-based discussions | Facebook Group |
| Broadcast gameplay publicly | An eligible Page, professional-mode profile, or another eligible destination |
Meta describes Pages as spaces for businesses, brands, organizations, and public figures, while professional mode is designed for individuals who want to publish publicly from a profile. Groups are better suited to discussion among members. See Meta’s current explanation of Pages at Facebook Help Center.
What you need before creating the Page
- A Facebook account.
- A recognizable creator, team, channel, or community name.
- A game or gaming niche to focus on.
- Profile and cover artwork that you own or have permission to use.
- Links to your other official channels, if you have them.
- For Facebook Live through a Page: an account that is at least 60 days old, a Page with at least 100 followers, and the required Facebook access. Meta says these requirements apply to its current Live workflow, but eligibility can also vary by destination, geography, account status, and policy enforcement. Check the Live composer if the option is unavailable.
Choose the name carefully
Use the same creator or team name that people see on your other platforms. Keep the visible name readable and avoid excessive punctuation, misleading terms, or wording that makes the Page appear officially operated by a game publisher, developer, esports league, or another creator.

- ALL-IN-ONE STREAMING & GAMING SETUP — Everything you need to go live in one box: a 1080P HD webcam, RGB USB microphone, and adjustable LED light. Skip piecing together streaming accessories one at a time — plug in and start streaming in minutes.
- CRYSTAL-CLEAR 1080P VIDEO — A high-resolution CMOS sensor captures true 24-bit color up to 1920×1080 at 30FPS, with automatic brightness and color compensation so you look sharp on Twitch, YouTube, Zoom, or Teams without manual tweaking.
- STUDIO-QUALITY AUDIO, BACKED BY A 30 DAY WARRANTY — A 14mm capacitive microphone with cardioid pickup, built-in pop filter, gain control knob, and shock mount delivers clear, echo-free sound (>70dB signal-to-noise). Real-time headphone monitoring lets you hear exactly what your audience hears — and it's backed by a full 30 DAY
- PROFESSIONAL LIGHTING, 5 MODES & 5 BRIGHTNESS LEVELS — A CRI 90+ LED panel spans 3000–7200K, from warm to cool white, with 5 brightness levels and a memory function that saves your favorite setting. Rotates 180° and hooks onto your monitor for the perfect angle every time.
- WORKS RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX—Compatible with Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS for streaming, video calls, and content creation. Note: PS5/Xbox streaming requires a capture card (sold separately) to connect this kit to your console.
Do not fill the Page name with every game you might play. If you later expand from one title to several, a name such as “Alex Plays” or “Northside Esports” will age better than a name tied permanently to one game. Put specific game titles in the bio and content instead.
Meta’s Page setup and naming requirements can change, so consult the current official Page creation guidance before publishing a name that represents a business or organization.
How to create a Facebook gaming Page
- Sign in to Facebook.
- Open facebook.com/pages/create.
- Enter the Page name.
- Choose the closest category Facebook currently offers, such as gaming, creator, entertainment, media, or community.
- Write a short bio.
- Select Create Page, then select Done if Facebook shows a completion screen.
Facebook can show different labels and layouts on desktop, mobile, and different accounts. The creation URL is therefore more reliable than memorizing a long menu path.
Write a useful gaming bio
Tell visitors what they will get from the Page. Mention the main games, content format, and schedule if those details are stable.
A simple formula is:
Independent [game/content type] creator posting [streams, clips, guides, or reviews]. Live on [days] at [time zone].
For example:
Independent Fortnite creator posting ranked highlights, build tips, and live gameplay. Streams Tuesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. IST.
Do not promise a schedule you cannot maintain. If the Page is fan-run or unofficial, say so clearly.
Customize the Page for gaming
After creation, complete the Page before inviting people to follow it. Meta’s standard Page customization options include basic information, a profile picture, cover photo, action button, and connected WhatsApp account where available. Details and labels may vary.
Profile picture
Use a creator logo, team emblem, simple face, or high-contrast avatar. It should remain recognizable when Facebook displays it as a small circle. A complicated screenshot or tiny wordmark usually performs poorly as a profile image because important details disappear at thumbnail size.
Cover image
Use the cover to communicate your identity quickly. You can include your main games, streaming schedule, platform handles, team name, or a clear invitation to watch. Keep important text away from edges because Facebook crops and rearranges cover images across devices. Do not rely on one exact image-dimension formula without checking Facebook’s current upload display.
Username and Page URL
Claim a consistent username if one is available. If your preferred name is unavailable, use a readable modifier such as Live, Plays, TV, GG, or Gaming. Do not impersonate another creator or publisher simply to obtain a similar URL.

Action button and links
Choose the action button that matches the Page’s actual purpose:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems- Watch video for a video-first channel.
- Contact for a creator, team, or business receiving inquiries.
- Learn more for a website or community hub.
- Shop or Sign up only when the linked destination genuinely supports that action.
Add your official website, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, or other community links. Avoid sending visitors to a collection of unrelated links with no explanation.
Preview the Page as a visitor
Before promoting it, check the Page while signed out or from another account. Confirm that the name, profile image, cover crop, bio, action button, links, and contact information look correct. Also check that no personal information has been published accidentally.
Set up Page access safely
If other people will help run the Page, do not share your personal Facebook password. Use Facebook’s access controls and give each person only the permissions needed for their work.
- Facebook access: lets a person switch into the Page and manage it on Facebook. Access can be full or partial.
- Task access: lets someone work through tools such as Meta Business Suite or Ads Manager without necessarily allowing them to switch into the Page.
- Community manager access: is intended for specific moderation duties, such as managing live-stream chats.
Someone with full control can manage settings and Page access and may be able to remove other managers or delete the Page. Limit full control to owners or senior administrators. Meta explains the current access types at Facebook’s Page access help page.
Recommended Free Tools
A sensible team setup is:
- Keep at least two trusted administrators.
- Give a video editor or freelancer task access where possible.
- Give a chat moderator moderation access rather than full control.
- Enable two-factor authentication on administrator accounts.
- Review Page access regularly.
- Remove former employees, contractors, and collaborators promptly.
Publish content before trying to grow
Creating the Page is only the setup step. Audience growth requires a clear niche and consistent content. Before inviting people to follow, publish enough material for a visitor to understand what the Page offers.
A strong launch set includes:
- A welcome post introducing the creator, team, or community.
- A short gameplay clip or highlight.
- A useful post, such as a build, tip, guide, or strategy.
- A schedule post explaining when streams normally happen.
- A pinned post describing what viewers can expect.
- A link to the live-stream destination or community channel.
Useful content pillars
- Live gameplay and stream announcements.
- Highlights, wins, fails, and short clips.
- Guides and tutorials.
- Patch or update commentary.
- Reviews and recommendations.
- Questions, polls, and community discussions.
- Esports or tournament coverage where you have permission to use the material.
- Behind-the-scenes creator or team content.
A practical first week might include an introduction on day one, a gameplay clip on day two, a useful tip on day three, a schedule reminder on day four, a community question on day five, a longer video or stream announcement on day six, and a live broadcast or recap on day seven if you are eligible.
How to livestream gameplay from the Page
There are several workflows. The correct one depends on whether you are using a webcam, a PC game, a console, or a mobile device.
Go live with a webcam
- Log in to Facebook on a computer.
- Select your profile photo in the upper-right corner.
- Select See all profiles.
- Switch into the Page.
- Select Live video below What’s on your mind?
- Select Select below Go live.
- Choose Webcam.
- Add the title and description, check the preview, and start the broadcast.
Meta currently recommends Google Chrome for this desktop Page workflow. The exact labels can change by browser, device, language, and rollout. The official instructions are at Facebook Help Center.

Stream PC gameplay with OBS or another encoder
- Open facebook.com/live/create.
- Select where the live video should appear and choose Go live.
- Under Select a video source, choose Streaming software.
- Optionally enable a persistent stream key if you need the key to be reusable.
- Copy Facebook’s Server URL and Stream Key.
- In OBS or another encoder, select a custom server or RTMP configuration.
- Paste the Server URL and Stream Key.
- Enable RTMPS if the software supports it.
- Start the stream in the encoder.
- Check the Facebook preview, add the title and description, then choose Go Live Now or schedule the broadcast.
Never share the stream key in a screenshot, Discord channel, video description, or support request. Standard stream keys generally cannot be reused unless you enable the persistent stream key option. Meta also states that only one live video can be active at a time with a persistent stream key. See Meta’s streaming-software instructions.
Console streaming
Console creators commonly need a capture card, a computer running OBS or Streamlabs, a compatible console broadcast workflow, and a microphone or headset. Facebook’s software-only PC instructions are not automatically sufficient for every console setup. Verify that the capture card supports the console, resolution, refresh rate, and copy-protection conditions involved.

Mobile streaming
You may be able to go live from the Facebook app, but mobile controls and eligibility can differ from the desktop Page workflow. Do not assume that iPhone, Android, desktop, Meta Business Suite, and the Facebook app expose identical destinations or settings.
OBS versus Streamlabs
| Criterion | OBS Studio | Streamlabs Desktop |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free and open source | Free base product; some tools require a paid offering |
| First setup | More manual | More guided |
| Customization | Extensive scenes, sources, plugins, and scripts | Integrated alerts, overlays, widgets, and templates |
| Best for | Control, flexibility, and advanced setups | Beginners who want creator features in one interface |
| Main drawback | More configuration and troubleshooting | More integrated complexity and paid upsells |
OBS Studio is free, open source, and available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It is the better starting point if you want maximum control or want to avoid subscription costs.

Streamlabs advertises a free desktop product for Windows and Mac, while additional features are available through paid offerings such as Ultra. Its Streamlabs Plugin for OBS guide says the plugin is free, while certain features, including multistreaming and some premium design assets, require Ultra.
You do not need paid streaming software to create a Page or stream. Start with OBS unless Streamlabs’ integrated tools solve a specific problem you actually have.
Facebook Live requirements and recommended settings
Meta’s current documentation states that, for the cited Live workflow, the account must be at least 60 days old and the Page or professional-mode profile must have at least 100 followers. You also need Facebook access or the appropriate task access to create Page content; the Page Live workflow specifically requires Facebook access. These conditions are not a guarantee that every account will receive every Live feature.
Meta’s current recommended technical settings are:

| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds |
| Video codec | H.264, Level 4.1 |
| Audio | 44.1 kHz stereo, 128 Kbps |
These are recommendations, not universal guarantees. Your upload connection, game motion, encoder hardware, and Facebook’s current limits may justify a lower resolution or bitrate. A stable 3,000 Kbps stream is better than a 6,000 Kbps stream that repeatedly disconnects.
Meta says Facebook Live streams are generally limited to eight hours, with longer durations potentially available to selected premium partners, gaming creators, and media organizations. Treat those longer broadcasts as approval-based exceptions, not as a normal Page entitlement. The current technical guidance is available at Facebook Help Center.
Test before your first public stream
- Confirm that the correct Page is selected as the destination.
- Check game audio, microphone levels, and voice balance.
- Check webcam framing and lighting.
- Verify the title, description, and thumbnail.
- Make sure the game is not exposing private messages, account details, or desktop notifications.
- Test alerts and overlays.
- Check Facebook’s preview before going live.
- Use a second device to monitor the public broadcast.
- Keep the stream key private.
- Prepare a “starting soon” scene.
- Have a backup plan if game capture is black or frozen.
Troubleshooting common problems
The Page does not appear as a Live destination
First switch into the Page rather than remaining on your personal profile. Then check whether your account is at least 60 days old, the Page has at least 100 followers, you have the required access, and the Page or account has no Live restriction. Update the browser or app and check whether the feature is available in your location. Meta’s current requirements and Page workflow are documented at this help page and this Page Live guide.
The preview is black
Check that OBS is capturing the correct game or window. Try window capture instead of game capture, or use display capture temporarily. Confirm that the game is running, that OBS has appropriate permissions, that a laptop is using the intended graphics processor, and that a capture card is connected and not occupied by another application. Restart OBS after connecting hardware.
There is no audio
Confirm that the correct desktop-audio and microphone devices are selected. Watch the meters while the game and microphone are active. Check whether the microphone is muted in Windows, macOS, the headset, OBS, or the capture card. Keep game audio below your voice so viewers can understand the commentary.

The stream disconnects
Investigate upload bandwidth, Wi-Fi interference, encoder overload, excessive bitrate, outdated drivers, VPN or firewall interference, and a stale or revoked stream key. Lower the bitrate or resolution if necessary. Do not simply increase bitrate; stability matters more than a higher number.
The stream key may be compromised
Stop the broadcast if necessary and refresh or regenerate the key in Facebook’s Live setup. Treat the key like a password and never include it in public images, chat messages, descriptions, or support tickets.

A Facebook Page does not give you permission to use a game publisher’s logos, music, characters, promotional artwork, third-party clips, or tournament footage. In-game music can trigger claims even when the gameplay itself is permitted. Separate rights may be required for music, overlays, images, clips, and broadcast footage.

Use music that you have licensed or that is cleared for the platform and format you are using. Facebook’s Community Standards and Content Monetization Policies also apply. “Fair use” is fact-specific and is not automatic protection for a gaming stream.
How monetization works
Creating a gaming Page does not automatically create income or unlock monetization. Meta says monetization and payouts involve separate eligibility checks, onboarding, and payment information. Stars may be available to participating, reviewed, eligible creators on some live or gaming videos, on-demand videos, Reels, and other content. Availability depends on country, account, product, and policy status.
Meta’s current information about Stars is available at Facebook’s Stars help page. Its payout guidance is at this monetization and payouts page.
Do not rely on universal follower or revenue thresholds. Meta can change programs and requirements, and approval is not guaranteed. Original content, authentic engagement, policy compliance, and completed payout information—including tax or banking details where required—can all matter. Stars availability is not the same as guaranteed income.
FAQ
Is Facebook Gaming still a separate Page type?
The current practical route is to create a standard Facebook Page and use it for gaming content. Gaming is a content and branding purpose rather than a separate Page-creation flow you need to find.
Can I create a gaming Page from a phone?
Facebook’s mobile app may allow Page creation and customization, but labels and controls vary by app version, account, and device. If the mobile flow is confusing, use facebook.com/pages/create in a browser.
Can I stream from a console?
Yes, but a console setup may require a capture card, computer, encoder software, microphone, and suitable upload bandwidth. Requirements depend on the console and capture workflow.
How many followers do I need to go live?
Meta’s current cited Page Live documentation states that the Page or professional-mode profile must have at least 100 followers, and the account must be at least 60 days old. Other restrictions or rollout conditions may apply.

Compared with the sponge, the metal anti-splash screen can filter the plosive sound more effectively. And the rubber elastic band is firmly clamped on the shock mount, which can reduce the vibration noise caused by violent keyboard tapping and mouse clicking.

Do I need OBS?
No. You can use Facebook’s webcam workflow or another supported streaming encoder. OBS is useful when you need game capture, scenes, overlays, audio mixing, or more control.
Is Streamlabs free?
Streamlabs advertises a free desktop product, but some features—including certain multistreaming and premium design tools—require paid offerings such as Ultra.
Can multiple people manage the Page?
Yes. Use Facebook access, task access, or moderation access according to each person’s responsibilities. Reserve full control for trusted owners or senior administrators.
Can I change the Page name later?
Facebook may allow a Page-name change, subject to its current rules and review. Choose a flexible name initially, and do not use a later change to make the Page appear to represent a different organization.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed

Can I use game music on stream?
Not automatically. Game music and third-party music may have separate rights restrictions. Check the publisher’s policy and use licensed or platform-cleared music where possible.
Why can’t I see the Live button?
Check whether you are switched into the Page, meet the account-age and follower requirements, have Facebook access, and have no restrictions. Browser, app, geography, and feature rollout can also affect availability.
How do I protect my stream key?
Never share it. If it may have been exposed, regenerate or refresh it in Facebook’s Live setup before streaming again.
Can a new Page monetize immediately?
Do not assume so. Monetization programs require separate eligibility, review, policy compliance, and payout onboarding. A newly created Page may need to build an audience and demonstrate eligible activity first.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the fastest way to create a Facebook gaming Page?
Open facebook.com/pages/create, enter a gaming-focused Page name, choose a relevant category, add a bio, create the Page, then add branding and an introductory post.
Can I stream immediately after creating the Page?
Usually not through the cited Page Live workflow. Meta currently states that the account must be at least 60 days old and the Page must have at least 100 followers, with additional access and policy conditions possible.
Which is better for beginners, OBS or Streamlabs?
OBS is free and flexible but more manual. Streamlabs is more guided and includes integrated creator tools, although some features require a paid offering.
The Bottom Line
Start with Facebook’s free standard Page tools. Build a clear gaming identity, secure access, publish useful content, and wait until your account and Page meet Meta’s current Live requirements. Use OBS for a free flexible setup; choose Streamlabs only when its integrated alerts, overlays, widgets, or multistreaming features justify the added complexity or cost.
