Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →You can loop one video or a playlist of videos with different frame rates in OBS Studio: set the loop option on the source, then choose one output frame rate under Settings → Video → Common FPS Value. OBS encodes the stream at that output rate; mixed-rate clips do not need separate streams, but their motion may look different after conversion, so test the complete playlist before going live.
Choose the right OBS source for your files
One video file: Media Source
Add a Media Source to your scene and enable Loop in its properties. The source repeats that file. OBS documents the control in its Media Sources guide.
Several files: VLC Video
Add a VLC Video source, select the files in the order you want them to play, and leave Loop Playlist enabled. Install VLC for this source to work. Keep shuffle off if the sequence matters; OBS treats shuffle as a separate option. See the OBS Media Sources guide.
Set one output frame rate for the stream
In OBS, open Settings → Video and set Common FPS Value to the output rate you want. This is the stream’s configured output rate, not a requirement that all source clips have matching frame rates. OBS handles the inputs as it produces that output; documentation does not promise that every source frame will be retained or that mixed-rate motion will look identical to the original.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For typical prerecorded material, 30 fps is a sensible starting point. Choose 60 fps if smoother motion is important and your computer and upload connection can sustain it. OBS notes that 60-fps streaming can be more taxing than 30 fps. These are practical choices, not platform mandates. YouTube’s encoder guidance supports up to 60 fps; it does not establish a preferred rate for every kind of video.
Configure OBS and YouTube Live
- Prepare the scene. Create an OBS scene and add the Media Source for one clip or VLC Video for a playlist. Enable the appropriate loop option and check the playlist order.
- Set resolution and FPS. Choose the canvas and output resolution in Settings → Video, then select the single Common FPS Value for the stream.
- Set the encoder. In Settings → Output, configure streaming output for H.264 and use a bitrate matched to resolution and FPS. YouTube’s H.264 recommendations include:
| Output | YouTube recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
These figures are YouTube Help recommendations for H.264, on the current page accessed in 2026; they are not universal targets for other codecs or resolutions. YouTube recommends CBR and a two-second keyframe interval, with keyframes no farther apart than four seconds. It also recommends RTMPS. Consult YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance for the applicable codec and output combination.

- Connect the encoder. In YouTube Studio, set up the live stream and copy its stream URL and stream key into OBS’s stream settings. Treat the stream key as a password; do not publish or share it. YouTube says initial live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours. Its encoder setup instructions explain the connection process.
- Preview, test, then go live. Check the preview in Live Control Room before starting. YouTube advises testing before a broadcast, and OBS loop controls do not guarantee a gapless boundary between every pair of files. Run through the playlist wrap and inspect sound, picture, motion, and transitions. During the broadcast, watch stream health and audio/video quality in Live Control Room. See YouTube’s live streaming tips.
Check copyright and YouTube policies
Looping a file in OBS only controls playback; it does not grant rights to the video, music, or other material in it. Use content you own or have permission to stream, and check YouTube’s rules before broadcasting. A repeated or prerecorded program is not exempt from copyright or other platform policies. Review YouTube’s current Community Guidelines and rights information for your content before going live.
Troubleshoot common problems
- The video stops instead of repeating: Open the source properties and enable Loop for Media Source or Loop Playlist for VLC Video.
- The playlist source is missing or does not play: Install VLC, then reopen OBS and check the VLC Video source’s selected files and order.
- Motion looks uneven between clips: Mixed input rates are being converted to the configured output FPS. Try a different output rate that better suits the material and preview the transitions; no single setting guarantees identical cadence for arbitrary clips.
- The stream stutters or drops frames: Check OBS’s output resolution, FPS, encoder load, and upload capacity. If you chose 60 fps, try 30 fps; OBS notes the higher rate can be more demanding. Match the bitrate to YouTube’s recommendation for the chosen resolution and FPS.
- YouTube shows poor stream health: Confirm stream URL and key, encoder settings, network stability, and the preview in Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder page recommends testing and monitoring rather than assuming settings will work without a test.
- The stream key is rejected or live is unavailable: Verify the key belongs to the active YouTube Studio stream. If live streaming has not been enabled on the channel, YouTube says activation may take up to 24 hours.
Or let it run in the cloud
