CameraFi Live can use a video file as a broadcast source on Android, but its official guide does not confirm a repeat setting or gapless playback when the file ends. Check your installed version for a repeat or loop control, then test it before broadcasting publicly. CameraFi’s Replay feature is not a substitute: it replays recent live footage, not a prerecorded file.
Can CameraFi Live loop a prerecorded video?
CameraFi’s Android guide explains how to select a video file as a broadcast source, but it does not document a universal loop toggle or guarantee that a file restarts without a pause. The available documentation therefore cannot confirm that CameraFi Live will repeat a prerecorded video seamlessly on YouTube.
In the app, open the broadcast’s video/source controls and select your video file. Inspect the playback controls in your installed version for a repeat or loop option. Menu labels and availability can vary by version; do not assume the control exists if you cannot find it.
Why Replay does not loop a video file
CameraFi’s Replay feature is designed for replaying a short section of recent live action. CameraFi’s Android announcement describes a replay buffer adjustable from 3 to 30 seconds, with optional autoplay when the REPLAY button is pressed and transitions around playback. When the replay ends, it returns to the live screen: “After the replay finishes, it will automatically end and switch back to the live screen.”

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
That behavior is different from playing a prerecorded video file repeatedly. Turning on Replay will not, according to the documented feature description, make a selected file restart at its end.
How to check the loop and seam before going live
- In CameraFi Live on Android, open the broadcast’s Video or source controls and select the prerecorded file.
- Look for a repeat or loop control in the playback options. If your version has one, enable it; the official guide does not establish a fixed menu path or control for every version.
- Run a private or unlisted rehearsal on YouTube. Let the video reach its final seconds and watch for a pause, black frame, audio cut, or visible jump before it starts again.
- Check that audio resumes correctly and that the chosen YouTube stream remains connected across the file boundary. Repeat the test after changing the file, source, or app settings.
- If the file stops and your version offers no repeat control, use an alternative source workflow below or choose a service designed to loop uploaded videos.
A rehearsal reveals how your actual setup behaves; it is not a guarantee that CameraFi will produce a gapless loop in a later broadcast.

Android beta workaround: send CameraFi a continuous RTMP source
CameraFi announced an external RTMP video input for Android beta on June 30, 2026. With this route, another device or app supplies the video feed to CameraFi Live. A source that can keep playing your video continuously may work around the end-of-file behavior of CameraFi’s own file source, but CameraFi does not promise a gapless result.
- Check whether the Android beta RTMP input is available in your CameraFi Live installation.
- In the source switcher, add an RTMP source and note the address or QR information CameraFi displays.
- Configure a separate sending device or app to provide a continuous feed to that RTMP source. CameraFi names OBS, vMix, PTZ/IP cameras, drones, other phones, and hardware encoders as examples of possible senders; compatibility and setup depend on your equipment and network.
- Connect the source and conduct a private or unlisted YouTube rehearsal. Watch the video boundary, audio, and connection before relying on it for a public broadcast.
This is an Android beta workflow and requires an external sender. The announcement does not establish that a file will loop gaplessly, and it does not confirm equivalent RTMP input on iOS. CameraFi’s iOS guide lists the phone’s built-in camera and a USB external camera as video sources; do not assume Android’s file-source or beta RTMP workflow is available on iOS.

Connect CameraFi Live to YouTube separately from looping
Looping concerns the video source; YouTube ingest is a separate part of the setup. CameraFi’s August 18, 2020 Custom RTMP tutorial describes obtaining the stream URL and key in YouTube Studio on a PC, then entering them in CameraFi Live’s Custom RTMP mode. Since that guide is older, current YouTube Studio or app labels may differ.
Keep your stream key private. If you need to retrieve or replace it, use YouTube Studio rather than sharing it with another person or publishing it. Confirm the broadcast reaches YouTube during your rehearsal; a successful connection does not itself prove the video will repeat without a seam.

Copyright and permission for prerecorded video
CameraFi’s FAQ warns that broadcasting another person’s prerecorded content may create copyright risk. Use video and audio you own or have permission to stream, and check that your permission covers YouTube live broadcasts. A file being available to play in the app does not establish that you have the rights to broadcast it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common problems and what to try
- The video stops at the end: Check whether your installed Android version has a repeat control. If it does not, try the external RTMP-source workaround or another looping workflow; Replay is not a file loop.
- There is a pause or jump at the restart: Repeat the rehearsal and inspect both the video and audio boundary. The documented CameraFi file-source guide does not promise gapless playback.
- You cannot find the same source options: Confirm you are using Android. CameraFi’s iOS guide describes a different source list, and the external RTMP-input announcement is for Android beta.
- The RTMP source does not appear or connect: Verify that the Android beta feature is available in your installation, that the sender is using the address or QR information shown by CameraFi, and that both devices or apps can communicate over the network. The announcement does not guarantee every sender or network setup will work.
- YouTube receives the stream but the file does not loop: Check the source playback behavior independently. The YouTube stream URL and key connect the broadcast; they do not control whether CameraFi repeats the file.
- The broadcast is interrupted by a rights issue: Replace the material with content you own or are authorized to broadcast. CameraFi warns that another person’s prerecorded content may create copyright risk.
