Use 4 Bamboo and 1 Corn in the Cooking Pot to make the standard Sushi in Grow a Garden. Start the cook, wait for the timer, and interact with the pot again when it finishes. Higher-rarity recipes are reported by the community, but they can change between game versions.

How to Make Sushi in Grow a Garden

Quick answer: Put 4 Bamboo and 1 Corn into the Cooking Pot, start cooking, wait for the timer to finish, then interact with the pot again to collect your Sushi.

Sushi in Grow a Garden is made with crops, not real-world sushi ingredients. You do not need fish, rice, nori, rice vinegar, or a bamboo rolling mat. The standard recipe uses five crop ingredients: four Bamboo and one Corn.

Basic Sushi recipe

Food Ingredients Confidence
Sushi 4 Bamboo + 1 Corn High

This is the most widely reported Sushi combination and is the best recipe to try first. The cooking system and community recipe lists can change between game updates, so use the in-game recipe book to confirm a recipe if your current version behaves differently.

How to cook Sushi

  1. Collect four Bamboo. You can use Bamboo from your garden or obtain seeds when Bamboo is available through the Seed Shop. If you do not have enough Bamboo, maintaining Bamboo plants is more reliable than trying random substitutes.
  2. Collect one Corn. Add a single Corn to the four Bamboo.
  3. Travel to the Cooking Pot. The Cooking Pot is the food-crafting station in the central map or lobby area.
  4. Add the ingredients. Place 4 Bamboo and 1 Corn into the pot.
  5. Start cooking. Activate the cooking button after all five ingredients are loaded.
  6. Wait for the timer. Community guides generally report a cooking time of roughly five to seven and a half minutes. The displayed duration can vary with the crop, recipe state, or game version.
  7. Collect the Sushi. When the timer ends, interact with the Cooking Pot again to claim the finished food.

Why Bamboo is important

Bamboo is the defining ingredient in the commonly documented Sushi recipes. The ordinary recipe needs four Bamboo, and the reported Rare, Legendary, Mythical, and Divine combinations also continue to use Bamboo. If the recipe fails, check the ingredient count first: one missing Bamboo can cause the pot to produce a different food or Soup.

Bamboo can be the difficult ingredient because its availability depends on the Seed Shop and on whether you already have it growing in your garden. If Sushi is something you expect to cook repeatedly, keeping Bamboo plants available is more dependable than waiting until a craving appears and hoping the shop stocks the required seeds.

Reported higher-rarity Sushi recipes

Players and community guides have reported several recipes for higher tiers of Sushi. These combinations are useful as possibilities, but they should not be treated as permanent guarantees. Recipe documentation is inconsistent, and at least one community cooking-event reference labels its recipe section as outdated.

Reported result Reported ingredients How reliable is it?
Rare Sushi 1 Bamboo + 2 Tomato + 1 Corn Medium
Rare Sushi 1 Bamboo + 1 Corn + 2 Spiked Mango Medium
Legendary Sushi Bamboo + Lilac + Lucky Bamboo + Mango + Violet Corn Medium-low
Legendary Sushi Bamboo + Hive Fruit + Corn Medium-low
Legendary Sushi 3 Bamboo + Corn + Maple Apple Medium-low
Mythical Sushi 2 Bamboo + Corn + 2 Bone Blossom Medium
Mythical Sushi 3 Sugar Apple + Bamboo + Corn Medium
Mythical Sushi Corn + Bamboo + 3 Elder Strawberry Medium
Divine Sushi 1 Bamboo + 1 Corn + 3 Bone Blossom Medium-high among reported combinations
Divine Sushi 1 Bamboo + 1 Violet Corn + 3 Bone Blossom Medium; reported as an alternative

The most consistently repeated higher-tier combination is 1 Bamboo + 1 Corn + 3 Bone Blossom for Divine Sushi. Even this recipe is based on community reporting rather than a permanent official guarantee, so verify it in the current in-game recipe book before using scarce Bone Blossom.

What about Prismatic and Transcendent Sushi?

Prismatic recipes are not consistently confirmed. Some community guides report Violet Corn + Bamboo + Sunflower + 2 Bone Blossom, while other references do not confirm a working Prismatic combination. Treat it as experimental unless the recipe book in your current game build displays or accepts it.

No dependable Transcendent Sushi recipe was established in the recipe references reviewed. That does not prove a later update cannot add one; it means you should not spend valuable crops based on an unverified list.

Before attempting a rare recipe: check the in-game recipe book and the current Cooking Pot behavior. Community tables may describe an older event or game build, and an incorrect combination can consume crops while producing another dish.

Does using rarer crops guarantee better Sushi?

No universal guarantee has been established. Higher-rarity combinations generally replace some basic ingredients with rarer crops, especially Bone Blossom in the commonly reported Divine recipe, but crop rarity does not provide a confirmed, universal formula for the final Sushi tier.

Very rare Sushi may also provide rewards that are not proportionally better than the cost of the ingredients. For ordinary cooking, the safest approach is to use 4 Bamboo + 1 Corn. Save Bone Blossom and other difficult-to-replace crops for a specific quest, craving, or objective rather than gambling them on an unconfirmed recipe.

Using Sushi for Chris P.’s craving

Chris P. is reported to have a periodically changing food craving. When Sushi is the active request, submit the finished food to him through the relevant NPC interaction. The requested food and the reward behavior can change, so check the craving displayed in your current game rather than relying on a fixed reward list.

Depending on the current game system, cooked food may also have uses such as selling, feeding pets, crafting, or fulfilling other NPC rewards. The exact value and available use are version-sensitive. If you are making Sushi specifically for Chris P., confirm that Sushi is the active craving before spending your ingredients.

Common mistakes

  • Using real sushi ingredients: Grow a Garden uses a crop-combination system. Fish, rice, seaweed, vinegar, and kitchen equipment are not part of the game recipe.
  • Adding the wrong number of Bamboo: The ordinary recipe requires four Bamboo, not one Bamboo.
  • Assuming any five crops will make Sushi: Unlisted combinations can produce another food or Soup.
  • Spending rare crops too early: Test the basic recipe first and verify higher-rarity combinations in the current recipe book.
  • Leaving before the timer finishes: You must return to the Cooking Pot and interact with it after cooking completes to collect the food.
  • Trusting an old recipe table: Cooking-event documentation may be outdated, particularly for newer tiers such as Prismatic and Transcendent.

Best strategy if you need Sushi now

  1. Check whether Chris P. is currently asking for Sushi.
  2. Check your garden and inventory for four Bamboo and one Corn.
  3. If Bamboo is missing, wait for the Seed Shop or grow a supply instead of substituting random crops.
  4. Cook the basic recipe at the central Cooking Pot.
  5. Use the finished Sushi for the active craving or another currently available food use.
  6. Only attempt a higher tier after confirming the recipe in the current in-game recipe book and deciding that the reward is worth the ingredient cost.
