Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsYou can move a 24/7 YouTube loop from an Indian VPS to Gyre, but the video files and stream setup do not move automatically. Upload the original files to Gyre, choose how Gyre will connect to YouTube, then start and verify Gyre before stopping the VPS encoder. Do not assume the existing YouTube watch URL will remain active: Gyre’s channel-authorization route creates broadcasts through YouTube’s API, and the documented workflow does not guarantee it can take over every existing event.
What changes when you move the stream
The VPS currently sends an encoded feed to YouTube. With Gyre, the service loops uploaded, pre-recorded videos from its cloud infrastructure. You therefore need the source video files—not just YouTube links or the playlist configuration on the VPS—and you must configure Gyre to send to the intended YouTube broadcast.
Gyre says its cloud stream continues if your laptop is off or your internet connection drops. That describes the cloud delivery model, not an independently measured uptime guarantee. See Gyre’s service page for its stated features.
Before planning a cutover, decide whether retaining the current scheduled event and viewer URL is essential. The documented API flow may create a new broadcast; the available documentation does not establish universal URL continuity or takeover of an already-live event. If continuity is mandatory, confirm the exact event, key, and workflow with Gyre before the migration window.

Choose how Gyre will connect to YouTube
| Decision | Channel authorization | Manual setup |
|---|---|---|
| Broadcast | Gyre’s guide describes creating a broadcast through YouTube’s API. | Create or schedule the broadcast in YouTube, then configure Gyre. |
| Stream key | Select an existing key or allow Gyre to create one. | Enter the YouTube stream key in Gyre. |
| Metadata | Gyre’s guide says metadata is entered in its interface and sent through the API. | Set the YouTube event and Gyre configuration to match. |
| Existing event continuity | Not established by the documented workflow; verify before relying on it. | The instructions use a scheduled event ID and key; confirm they target the event you want. |
| Use when | You want Gyre’s integrated, repeatable setup and can authorize the channel. | You need to explicitly configure around a pre-created scheduled event. |
Gyre’s current API guide is vendor documentation, not independent testing. Its manual help instructions may reflect an older interface, so check the labels shown in your account. Gyre’s guide quotes limits of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key; treat those as limits stated by Gyre, especially relevant if you plan to run multiple streams, rather than as independently verified YouTube limits.
Prepare the channel, event, and VPS details
Record the current configuration
Before changing anything, note the YouTube watch URL and event, title and metadata, visibility, stream key association, resolution, frame rate, audio settings, and whether YouTube auto-start or auto-stop is enabled. Keep the VPS stream running while you prepare Gyre. Decide whether the desired cutover targets the existing scheduled event or a new broadcast, and confirm that choice before starting.

YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream enablement can take up to 24 hours, so resolve eligibility well before a scheduled migration. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Protect the stream key
YouTube describes stream keys as the credential and address that let an encoder send a feed. Treat yours like a password: do not put it in a public document or screenshot. Channel owners or managers can reset a key in YouTube Studio; if it has been exposed, reset it and update every encoder or service that uses it. YouTube’s live stream settings guidance explains key management.

Move and check the video files
- Find the source files. Locate the original recordings used by the VPS loop. A YouTube watch URL or the VPS playlist alone is not a substitute for uploading media to Gyre.
- Upload to Gyre storage. Gyre’s instructions say its stream input is pre-recorded video and that files need to be uploaded to its storage, even if those videos are already published on YouTube. See Gyre’s upload instructions.
- Build or select the playlist. Add the uploaded files in the intended order, then check Gyre’s file report and any conversion results before launch. Gyre describes a built-in converter and looping playlists.
- Review compatibility. For a mixed playlist, check output resolution, frame rate, and audio settings. Gyre’s API guide says its interface checks media parameters and reports mismatches. Resolve reported issues before switching.
Do not treat older Gyre help-article suggestions about 720p or 1080p, H.264, bitrate, or frame rate as universal current YouTube requirements. Use the current guidance for the selected workflow and the checks Gyre presents for your files.
Configure Gyre and YouTube
Route A: authorize the YouTube channel
- In Gyre, choose YouTube and authorize the Google account that owns the channel; grant the broadcast access requested.
- Select the correct channel, then enter the broadcast metadata in Gyre.
- Choose an existing stream key or allow Gyre to create one, as offered in the account interface.
- Add the uploaded files or playlist and review the resulting broadcast details.
Gyre says this route creates broadcasts through YouTube’s API and automates metadata and start/stop handling. Because it may create a new event, verify the resulting watch page rather than assuming it is the VPS event’s existing URL.

Route B: configure a scheduled YouTube event manually
- In YouTube Live Control Room, create or schedule the intended broadcast. Set the visibility and review auto-start and optional auto-stop settings.
- Copy the stream key and stream ID for that event from YouTube, taking care not to expose the key.
- In Gyre’s manual setup, enter the key and stream ID, then associate the uploaded playlist.
- Before launch, check that the event, key, metadata, and visibility all correspond to the intended broadcast.
Gyre’s manual instructions describe this event-and-key workflow; YouTube’s encoder setup guidance explains sending an encoder feed to YouTube with the stream URL and key. Confirm the exact destination in the current Gyre interface rather than guessing an ingest address.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Cut over without stopping the old stream too early
- Choose a maintenance window. Keep the VPS available while Gyre’s files and configuration are ready.
- Start Gyre and inspect the output. Check Gyre’s status and the YouTube Live Control Room preview. Verify the expected video and audio, metadata, visibility, and viewer page.
- Confirm the intended event is receiving the feed. If Gyre created a new API broadcast, use that event’s watch page and tell viewers about the new URL if needed; do not assume the old URL redirects.
- Stop the VPS encoder after confirmation. Avoid running two senders into the same event or key unless you understand and have verified the exact configuration. For a manual setup using the same event, stop the VPS source promptly once Gyre is confirmed.
- Monitor the new stream. YouTube recommends previewing before going live and monitoring audio and video quality. Its operational guidance recommends available upload bandwidth above the total stream bitrate, with a 20% margin. That applies to the VPS sender and other encoder paths; after upload, your home connection is not carrying Gyre’s cloud delivery.
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived after they end. Do not rely on an indefinitely running loop as a permanently preserved VOD; plan separate recording or archiving if you need a durable copy.

Secure and monitor the new setup
If Gyre’s selected workflow offers RTMPS and supports it, use it for transport protected by TLS/SSL. Retrieve the RTMPS URL from YouTube Live Control Room instead of constructing one from memory. YouTube explains the protocol in its RTMPS guidance. If you reset a compromised key, update Gyre or any other active sender with the replacement.
After the cutover, check that the intended broadcast remains live and that the selected playlist is looping as expected. Keep an eye on Gyre status and YouTube’s preview, especially through the first transition between playlist items.
Troubleshooting a Gyre migration
- The old YouTube URL is no longer the active stream. The API authorization route can create a broadcast, and URL continuity is not guaranteed. Find the event Gyre created, verify its watch page, and share the correct link; if keeping the old event was required, ask Gyre to confirm the appropriate event/key setup before another cutover.
- Gyre has no media to play. The source files must be uploaded into Gyre storage. Upload the originals and add them to a Gyre playlist; YouTube publication or a VPS playlist by itself does not transfer the files.
- The stream does not appear on the intended event. Recheck the selected channel, event ID, stream key association, and visibility. In manual mode, confirm that the key and ID belong to the scheduled event; in authorization mode, inspect the broadcast Gyre created.
- YouTube rejects the live setup. Check channel verification and whether the channel has had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days. If this is the channel’s first live stream, allow up to 24 hours for enablement.
- Audio or video is wrong, missing, or inconsistent. Review Gyre’s media report and conversion results, then check resolution, frame rate, and audio compatibility across playlist files. Use the YouTube preview before stopping the VPS source.
- The feed becomes unstable during the VPS phase. Check that VPS upload capacity exceeds the stream’s total bitrate; YouTube recommends 20% headroom. This creator-side bandwidth guidance does not describe Gyre’s own cloud capacity.
- A stream key may have leaked. Reset it in YouTube Studio and update the service or encoder configured to use it. Do not continue using a key that may be publicly exposed.
