You can save an accessible playlist from your old YouTube account to the new account’s library, but that does not transfer ownership or create a separate copy. If you need the new account to own and edit its own playlist, recreate it there by adding the videos manually. YouTube’s documented channel-transfer tool is for moving a channel between Brand Accounts associated with the same Google Account—not for migrating personal playlists between Google Accounts.
Choose the result you need

YouTube’s India-localized help pages describe the same basic save-and-share actions as its general workflow; they do not document a separate India-specific migration method. The instructions below therefore use YouTube’s standard playlist controls.
Save an accessible playlist to the new account
- Copy the playlist URL from the old account. While signed in to the old account, open the playlist page and copy its URL. Check that you copied the playlist page, which includes a playlist identifier, rather than the URL of one video. YouTube’s sharing instructions explain how to share a playlist.
- Open the link while signed in to the new account. Confirm that the account shown is the one where you want the playlist saved.
- Save the playlist if YouTube offers the control. YouTube documents saving a playlist to a library, including from a video in that playlist. The playlist owner may need to make it publicly addable to viewers’ libraries. See YouTube’s instructions for saving playlists.
- Check the new account’s library. Saving gives the new account access to the original playlist; it does not establish that the new account owns a duplicate.
Create an independently owned playlist
If the new account needs its own editable playlist, create one while signed in to that account and add the videos to it. You can use the old playlist as a reference and work through its entries manually. The amount of work depends on the playlist’s size and whether its videos remain available to the new account.
A May 20, 2026 answer from a YouTube Help Community Product Expert says downloaded YouTube Takeout data cannot be automatically imported as a playlist and recommends recreating playlists manually. This is community guidance, not an official YouTube Help policy or a documented import feature. A separate community answer from March 23, 2025 discusses copying playlists, but the official save-and-share instructions remain the clearest basis for the access method.

Account for private videos
A playlist link does not grant permission to watch private videos. The uploader must invite the new account to view each private video. YouTube notes that private videos will not play for others unless the uploader has shared them; if a playlist includes private videos, its owner must invite viewers to access those videos. Do not use a channel transfer just to move playlists
YouTube’s channel-move instructions cover moving a YouTube channel between Brand Accounts associated with the same Google Account. They are not a general method for transferring a personal playlist between separate Google Accounts. If you are actually moving a channel, review YouTube’s channel-transfer requirements and check the selected source and destination carefully.

- YouTube lists eligibility requirements; supervised accounts cannot move a channel, while a school account may have a qualified transfer option.
- If the destination already has a channel, choosing “Replace” and deleting it permanently removes that channel’s content, including playlists.
That deletion risk makes channel replacement an especially poor shortcut when your goal is only to make playlists available in another account.
Common problems and what to do
- The playlist opens, but you cannot save it: Confirm you are on the playlist page and signed in to the intended account. The owner may need to make the playlist publicly addable to viewers’ libraries; YouTube does not promise that the save control will be available for every playlist.
- Some entries will not play: The videos may be private or otherwise unavailable to the new account. For private videos, ask the uploader to invite the new account.
- You expected Takeout to rebuild the playlist: The cited Help Community guidance says there is no automatic import for the downloaded data. Use the playlist as a reference and recreate the list manually if you need a separately owned playlist.
- You are considering “Replace” in a channel move: Stop and verify the destination channel. Replacement permanently deletes its content, including playlists.
