Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesTo organize a month of church services, upload the recordings to your church’s YouTube channel, create a dated playlist, set its visibility, add the videos, and arrange them in the order viewers should watch. A regular YouTube playlist is an on-demand collection, however—not an unattended 24/7 live broadcast. If you need one continuous live page, you need a separate livestream workflow.
Build a clear monthly playlist
- Publish the recordings. Confirm the service videos are uploaded to the church’s YouTube channel before adding them. Finish publishing any missing recordings first.
- Create a playlist. In YouTube or YouTube Studio, create a playlist with a title that identifies both the month and year, such as “Sunday Services — October 2026.” In the description, state the date range and what kind of services it contains. YouTube lets creators choose playlist visibility and add videos. YouTube’s playlist instructions explain the available controls.
- Choose who can view it. Set the playlist to public if it should be available to everyone, or private if viewing should be limited to the owner. Check the visibility before sharing the link.
- Add and order the videos. Add the month’s service recordings, then arrange them chronologically or in another sequence that makes sense for your congregation. YouTube supports manual reordering.
- Review it as a viewer. Open the playlist while signed out or in a separate account. Check that the videos are visible in the intended order and that each title and thumbnail makes the service date clear. This is a practical check, not a YouTube requirement.
Decide what happens at month end
Keep a dated archive
For a lasting archive, leave the completed playlist intact and start a new one for the next month. Consistent titles—month, year, and service type—make older recordings easier to find.
Use a rolling playlist
If the church wants one playlist to show only the latest month, update its description and membership when the month changes. Make the rolling purpose clear so viewers do not mistake it for a complete archive.
Organize livestream recordings too
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance recommends publishing a stream archive for on-demand viewing and creating a live archive playlist to feature on the channel homepage. A monthly playlist can therefore serve as an archive for completed services, whether they were recorded before upload or originally streamed live.

A playlist is not a nonstop broadcast
A YouTube playlist gathers videos for viewers to select and watch on demand. The playlist instructions do not make it an unattended, continuous live feed. YouTube describes livestreaming as a separate workflow. If the church needs a single 24/7 watch page, it must supply a continuous audiovisual feed through an encoder or playback system and test and monitor that setup. A playlist and a continuous broadcast solve different needs: use the playlist when people should choose individual services; consider a live feed when they should arrive at one page that is broadcasting continuously.
Check music and other rights before sharing or rebroadcasting
Review the rights for everything captured in a service recording, especially music and other third-party material. YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content; a stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even when a church has a licence, the rights owner may need to allowlist the channel through Content ID. YouTube also says Content ID claims on archived live streams are made after the stream ends. See YouTube’s guidance on copyrighted content in live streams.

Licences depend on the territory, repertoire, recording, and use. For example, Church of England guidance describes a CCLI Streaming Licence for live worship music performed in streams in its context and discusses One Licence for additional church and choral repertoire. It also says commercially available CDs or recordings cannot be played without specific permission. This is UK and Church of England context—not universal legal advice, nor confirmation that a particular church’s songs are covered. Verify permissions for the actual church, territory, songs, recordings, and intended use.
Keep playlist titles and descriptions accurate, too. YouTube prohibits playlists whose titles or descriptions mislead viewers about what they contain; see its Community Guidelines.
