There is no universally best pipeline. In College Football 25, a pipeline helps, but recruit motivations, school grades, the prospect’s home pipeline and distance from home also affect interest.
What a pipeline does in College Football 25
Pipelines represent geographic recruiting regions, not just states. The game has 50 regions, including North, Central and South Florida, Metro Atlanta, and a combined New York–New Jersey region. Each school has a level from one to five in each pipeline, reflecting its recruiting history. Higher school levels increase its influence in that region, including a recruit’s initial interest and the impact of pitches. EA’s Dynasty deep dive explains these mechanics.

Your school’s pipeline levels stay fixed during play, though coach abilities can influence pipelines. A pipeline is an advantage, not a promise that a prospect will choose your school. Recruit motivations, school grades, the prospect’s own home pipeline and proximity also shape the initial school list; you still need to keep a school above a prospect’s weekly cutline as recruiting progresses.
How to choose a coach pipeline
- Check your school’s existing strengths. If it already has a useful level in a nearby region, choosing that pipeline can complement the school’s historical recruiting base.
- Choose between local depth and broader reach. A nearby region with strong recruiting potential may help a program that has weaker access close to home. A prominent program may be better placed to pursue recruits farther away. This is a strategy heuristic, not a tested formula or guarantee.
- Think about the recruits you can realistically land. Compare a prospect’s interest, motivations and school fit rather than choosing a pipeline on its name alone. A strong pipeline cannot override every other factor.
- Use community rankings as a shortlist, not a verdict. An unofficial community analysis identifies Central Florida, Metro Atlanta, North Texas, East Texas, Southern California, South Florida and Tidewater among the strongest overall regions. Its authors compiled school pipeline data and discussed testing, but it is not an EA ranking and does not establish the best choice for every school or save. The community ranking is best treated as a starting point.
- Treat position-specific claims cautiously. Community discussion suggests that some regions may be stronger for particular positions. Those observations are not official guarantees about which prospects a given save will generate.
A practical rule of thumb
If your school has strong access to its home region, start local. If its regional access is weak or your plan is to recruit nationally, consider the nearest strong region that extends your reach. Then focus your weekly effort on individual prospects whose interest and fit make them attainable. This recommendation combines EA’s description of the mechanics with community analysis; EA does not identify one universal coach pipeline.

Why launch-era advice may be outdated
On August 8, 2024, EA changed recruiting logic in a title update: it reduced the number of unrecruited four- and five-star prospects early in the season and increased the number of prospects AI teams pursue at one time. Advice based on early access or launch-week recruiting may not reflect the released game’s recruiting environment. See EA’s August 8 title update.
