Cat Quest II supports two-player co-op on one device. On Steam, you can invite a remote friend with Remote Play Together, which shares your local session rather than using a native online lobby. For that setup, at least one player needs a gamepad.
How multiplayer works in Cat Quest II
The game’s built-in co-op is local: two people play together on the same device. The Gentlebros’ official Steam FAQ describes it as “local only,” and says the full game can also be played solo without co-op-specific content. The Gentlebros’ Steam FAQ.

Steam players can use Remote Play Together to let a friend join remotely. This is Steam’s way of sharing the host’s local game session; it is not a native online matchmaking mode. Steam lists Remote Play Together support on the game’s store page. Cat Quest II on Steam.
Invite a friend with Steam Remote Play Together
- Launch Cat Quest II from Steam.
- Open the Steam Overlay by pressing Shift+Tab.
- Find the friend you want to invite and open the arrow or context menu beside their name.
- Select Remote Play Together.
- Have at least one player use a gamepad. The developer says the game does not support two keyboard-and-mouse setups for this play mode.
The Gentlebros’ Remote Play Together announcement is dated October 24, 2019. It included an instruction to join Steam Beta, but that dated note does not establish that the current Steam client still requires beta participation. The Gentlebros’ Remote Play Together announcement.

Controls and player limits
The developer’s FAQ says at least one player must use a joystick for local co-op. For the Steam Remote Play Together setup, its more specific guidance is that two keyboard-and-mouse inputs are unsupported, so one player needs a gamepad. The Gentlebros’ Steam FAQ.

What about Parsec?
