This guide covers the Patch 2.5.2 beta on Diablo IV’s Seasonal Realm, announced to open on January 12, 2026, at 11 a.m. PST. To enter, reach Rank 2 of Season Rank and use the Obelisk in Cerrigar. Tower access, rules, and leaderboard features changed in later seasons, so check the current in-game menus and patch notes if you are playing after this beta period.

How to unlock and enter the Tower in Patch 2.5.2
- On the Seasonal Realm, progress to Rank 2 of Season Rank.
- Travel to Cerrigar and interact with the Obelisk to enter the Tower.
- Choose a Tower tier you have unlocked. For this beta, Tower tier access followed the Pit’s progression rules: you could run difficulties already unlocked for the Pit.
Blizzard’s beta announcement and season overview document the Season Rank requirement and Cerrigar entrance; the 2.5.2 patch notes surfaced the Pit-style tier unlock rule. The official Patch 2.5 notes are secondary support for that specific progression detail.
How a Tower run works
The Tower was a timed, multi-stage dungeon with randomized layouts and monster families. You raced through the floors toward a final boss, making decisions under the clock. Blizzard did not establish an exact time limit, floor count, or scoring formula in the cited beta materials, so those details should not be inferred.

- Move through the floors and kill enemies. Keep clearing monsters to build score and progress toward spawning the final boss.
- Use Pylons. Pylons help you defeat elites and build score quickly; deciding when to use them is part of the timed run.
- Defeat the final Tower boss. Beating the boss completes the run. Afterward, the beta results showed the completed Tower tier and final time.
What the Patch 2.5.2 beta leaderboards showed
The beta boards separated entries by Normal and Hardcore. The available categories included solo runs for each class and group runs by party size:

Filters let players view all platforms or PC only, as well as friends or clan members. Blizzard warned that opting out of cross-platform play limited leaderboard access. The beta announcement planned multiple two-week leaderboard rounds during Season of Divine Intervention, followed by board closure before the season ended; Blizzard explicitly noted that timing could change.

How to compare leaderboard runs
For the Patch 2.5.2 beta, compare entries within the same kind of run rather than treating every time as equivalent. Check:
- Solo class or party size
- Normal or Hardcore mode
- Tower tier completed
- Final time
- Platform filter and whether the result is from the historical beta or a later season
Later Tower updates added build snapshots to leaderboard entries, which provide another comparison point for those later boards. Do not assume that feature was part of the Patch 2.5.2 beta.

Why these instructions are specific to the beta
Blizzard’s later Season of Reckoning overview describes changes including additional environments, monsters, and bosses; score tuning; a changed run start; progression rewards and caches; and build snapshots for leaderboard entries. It also said competitions would begin on Thursdays after a release or patch to allow time for balancing and bug fixes. Those are later-season details, not rules to apply retroactively to Patch 2.5.2.
Blizzard subsequently announced that the Tower and Leaderboards would leave beta in Season 14, with leaderboard rewards and Solo Self Found categories, in its Season of Death Awakening announcement. Treat those as announced later changes, not a guarantee of what is live now: check the current game for present access requirements, competition dates, categories, and rewards.
